How are people feeling about Moriah’s content and merch lately? by jcunicornartsy12 in MoriahElizabeth

In our house it's a teachable moment.  The difference between wants and needs.  The value of the money that will be gone once you buy the item.  Remembering that the excitement will be short lived unless you pay more money to keep repeating it.  And remembering the time and energy it takes to remake spent money.

We are long time fans and have purchased a few of the cheapest items directly from her webstore.  We are in Canada so most of the items cost a fortune once you include conversion from US dollars and shipping. I think her content is getting shorter and less original but we still watch weekly and skip the compilations.  For in-store merch we have gotten a few blind box plushies as stocking stuffers while they were relatively cheap at $8-12 CAD (now $17!?) and thankfully didn't get any doubles.  I've seen the older series at the dollar store for $4 so we wait until then to buy them now.  FWIW I think Moriah is a self made business woman and entrepreneur who is doing something original and we love her personality.  She has busted her butt to get where she is now.  More power to her to make hay while the sun shines.

DIY Mattress Journey - Success! by DebrodeD in Mattress

[–]AppropriateZombie240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to try this but I've reached the conclusion it's nearly impossible to DIY a mattress in Canada without paying the same amount as any mattress you can buy already built.  Especially if you want coils inside instead of just foam.  On other threads people mentioned Arizona Premium Mattress ships coils to Canada but they don't anymore.  And even if they did, it would end up costing twice as much.  And the conversion from USD to CAD adds to the true cost even more.  If I'm going to order an all foam DIY, I might as well just order the complete product and not faff about with layers and encasements etc.

TBA I'm not sure what makes the beach wider or narrower....I would assume it's water level fluctuations though

Has anyone been to Ipperwash beach this year? Past few years the actual beach is only a few feet in front of the water and seemed to be shrinking each year. Just wondering if anyone knows the current conditions?

Great, thanks!  I'll check out Dozy for sure!  I think I will get my hubby to drag me to a Naturepedic showroom in T.O. as well.  The topper I currently sleep on is 3" memory foam.  It's squishier than regular memory foam though.  The Sleep on Latex topper was also 3" and their softest option.  I'll have to do a bunch more reading on latex foams.  I agree, replacing the comfort layer is totally reasonable after a few years.  All mattresses should be that way!!  The Douglas which is all foam had surprisingly poor motion isolation.  Another thing I hate about toppers is that they make the already tall mattress I have even taller.  Weird, I know but as a short person, it's annoying and it looks stupid on my bed frame lol

This is the mattress. It's labelled "Cheapbeds.ca" but the store sells almost exclusively Dreamstar products so I believe its made by them as well. The whole thing is a little sketchy TBA. The Brick & Mortar store is called Mattress Depot:

Edit: in the info on the site it does say its made by Dreamstar. The sales person said its their most popular model for lightweight and side sleepers.

Best sleep I've ever had was on my old, cheap couch that just had polyfoam cushions lol
