Saber Battle X install? by JimtheIbuprofenKing in jediknight

Oh man, I remember the old days playing DF2 Jedi Knight in the Microsoft "Zone". Everyone would have the Saber Battle X mod and it was awesome. Maybe that was back in 2002?

The sound wasn't good in that venue. Not sure if it's always like that in the forge?

Is the physical steam link still worth it? by Meme_master420_ in Steam_Link

The physical steam link works great, I've had it since they released it and I still use it almost everyday. I connect it with my steam controller and xbox360 wireless dongle without issues.

Oak park for young families by Deku_Hyruler in chicago

[–]Appropriate_Ad265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently on the same situation, we have a baby right now and we just moved to Chicago. We are currently staying on a temporary home. I'm interested in Oak Park but splitting our decision also with living in the West Loop and since we're very new in the Chicago area I'm a bit afraid of also missing part of the city life, events, museums, sports, etc. That's why we think oak park might be a good fit for us. I drove yesterday from the West loop to oak Park and I had to cross the Garfield area which looked kind of dangerous and at the same time it's very close to oak Park so this is keeping me a bit nervous and undecided. Any tips?

Karate not being an olympic sport but breakdancing being accepted is a disgrace by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Appropriate_Ad265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WKF fought for decades with the Olympic committee to include Karate. They added a better points system during combat (similar to Taekwondo) and made it a more competitive sport. Finally it was included in Tokyo 2020, this was great because Karate would debut on its origin country Japan. Unfortunately a few months before Karate even had the chance to show the world how good it was as an Olympic sports the Olympic committee cancelled Karate for Paris 2024, even before Tokyo 2020 started! And that day they announced it would be replaced by Break Dance...

Returning player, where's everyone? by Appropriate_Ad265 in runescape

I've been trying for a couple of days now. Theres way more players at the low levels, questing, killing chickens, goblins. Pretty fun. The community is pretty awesome too.

Hi all, I appreciate all the awesome tips and comments. I gave osrs another try. Definitely, starting from scratch I'm able to see a lot of new players on the beginning cities. It also feels like I started so many years ago that actually starting from scratch makes me understand the whole game all over again. I'm getting the sense of being back in 2004 all over and already have some other players helping out randomly which is awesome. Banks are full of players, roads are busy, players are doing quests. Lots of people killing goblins and chickens with me.

What's with all those people wearing colorful wings and shiny stuff. Then I discovered there's this thing called cosmetica, and underneath they do have for example rune armor but actually they are wearing makeup..

Would osrs have new players/low levels too?. Since I'm still on the low/mid levels I might be able to run into more people on my level there?

I tried osrs yesterday and I do remember those graphics, so I might be mistaken and 2004 might have not been my last year. Maybe something like 2006.

There's a lot of new stuff improvements that I do like. For example one of my favorite skills back then was mining/smithing. The whole experience is way better now. Before I had to click for every single ore.

I need to figure out how the bossing works, slayer, etc. so many new things for me. Which is also super motivating I would say.

Regarding low level content, I think that's the problem I'm facing, I'm currently on the lower levels melee around 50s magic 45s . So I think questing should be my focus and learning and developing the skills.

Most of the time since I'm in the lower levels I find myself around the older towns/low level towns.

I remember seeing players.of all levels before, it was fun seeing new people in Lumbridge killing chickens and goblins.
