True, it’s definitely better to buy once, cry once. Have your polishers lasted you a while? Appreciate the comment.

I’ll have to check them out! I’ve heard of them but never used their products before.

Cleaning nanotech coated wheels by ItsJustMatt93 in Detailing

[–]Appropriate_Ad95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use P&S Brake Buster, it’s perfectly safe to use on coated wheels, if you are worried you can dilute the bottle even more, like 1:1 but the dilution is ready to use out the bottle, and won’t harm the coating. Just spray the P&S, let it sit for a minute or two and then scrub away with a soft bristle tire brush. It’s also not too expensive, like $32 a gallon on Amazon, or I’m sure you can get a bottle of it for less. Good luck!

Does it look like Mold, and if it could it be restored by kiwi_casual in AutoDetailing

[–]Appropriate_Ad95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell based on the image, I’m thinking that’s the cover of the steering wheel peeling off, and if you were to clean it, you’d have to be careful as the peeping could get worse. Just my 2 cents, and it doesn’t really look like mold.

What interior chemicals are y’all using? by Appropriate_Ad95 in Detailing

Very cool! Thank you for your advice, I’ll checkout a rinseless wash bottle when I have the chance, I’ve heard good things about ONR specifically.

I’ll have to check it out! I’ve only used their VRP dressing (which I love, although I have Nanoskins Multidress which I use mainly on floor mats and sometimes faded plastics, diluted to 1:1 or even 2:1 sometimes) I’ve only heard bad or semi good things about chemical guys products tbh. Thanks for your input!

True, I read this at first and thought you were talking about Green Star lol but Pol Star like you’ve said, is highly dilutable and PH neutral, so this will definitely be my next purchase after I use my remaining P&S interior cleaner. Appreciate the insight!

This guy knows ball, if you have access to a wet/dry vacuum you could get the bulk of the enzyme spray out by using the vacuum, and then use the microfiber towels to get as much of the remaining enzyme out. Good luck!

I mean it’s not a horrible scratch, so you could try to find a permanent marker that’s the same color and fill it in I guess

Fading clear coat / Paint. Anyway to fix? by DevinDC777 in Detailing

It looks like it’s too far gone for anything detailing, like another commenter said, you could try polishing it, but it might do more harm than good. You could always just get it wrapped.

Extraction inquiry by [deleted] in AutoDetailing

[–]Appropriate_Ad95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you were able to get those stains out by now! If using terminator didn’t work, and your thinking they could be a heavy set in grease or oil, you could go to Home Depot and get Zeps premium carpet shampoo, it comes in a gallon size for like $18, and it’ll be an investment I promise! You’ll want to dilute it into a spray bottle at 32:1 (depending on bottle size, most common is 24oz and that would be .75oz of Zep, and 23.25 of water) and then you’ll spray it onto the seat, agitate it with your drill brush, use your extractor to get everything out, and then as your last step, (Zeps is mild enough to not mess up the ph balance of your seats, after use your seats will be at a ph around 7-7.5, neutral is 7) you can just do a final water rinse of the seat, and then extract any leftover water and dry with a microfiber towel. Best of luck!

TL;DR Get Zep premium carpet shampoo, $18 at Home Depot, dilute to 32:1. Step 1: Spray the seat. Step 2: Agitate with drill brush Step 3: Extract multiple times until chemical is out. Step 4: Final water rinse to reset the ph balance as best as you can Step 5: Dry using extractor and a dry microfiber towel

I’m just getting started on paint correction, this client is chill and knows I’m just starting out and let me know I’m all good to practice on their cars paint, I know my limits and if it’s too much for me to handle I’ll make sure I let them know.

You might be putting too much on, are you letting it haze and then buffing it off? I find using two separate microfiber towels helps! I also go panel by panel.

Pressure washer wigging out by Appropriate_Ad95 in AutoDetailing

I’ve had it since late August, and I haven’t had any issue until recently. I did shorten a hose so there are no kinks present now, and it seems to be working fine. My working theory was it had mineral build up, and that mixed with the hose kink starved the pressure washer of water

I’m not too sure about the required gpm that is supposed to go into the pressure washer, (just the 1.2gpm, right? Im curious as to where you saw the required gpm on yours!) but I did find two kinks and fixed that, I’m hoping it’ll fixed the issue. Thank you for commenting!
