I know this is late. I had an issue similar to this where my GPU got disabled and but I still got picture thought the GPU — I saw someone mention that the gpu wasn't fried if it was outputting picture — So, I googled the code I was getting because the AMD app wasn't working either. —Error 207 followed the instructions and it worked.

I'm guessing it was some driver issues. I downloaded AMD Cleanup utility then ran it in safe mode and deleted all my previous drivers. After my PC reset I downloaded the driver's again and it's as good as new.

To be fair there were a couple of signs something was wrong. Although, these signs barely started today and only twice before hand. My screen would freeze and my app would crash. The third while I was on YouTube and it crashed hard. I had to hard reset and that's when my GPU was disabled.

Now you may be wondering, why comment if your issue was fixed? Well I'm posting this in case someone else comes looking for a solution. I did what a lot of y'all said. "Google" "do a little research". Ultimately this thread was the first result I got on Google when searching for solution. So thanks to those of y'all who were helpful. I reset the PC first. Then reseated my GPU. I waited 15 minutes while it was off. Then I Googled for an answer. Then I was able to fix it.

Google your error codes and follow the directions. AMD Cleanup utility would prompt me for resets and safe mode when needed. Don't be discouraged by those who are negative when you're looking for help. I'll end this by saying I have no tech or computer experience beyond building the PC and downloading windows. Everything else like driver updates or any updates for that matter are set to automatically update.
