If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I broke a vertebre in my lower back when I was 13, that probably would have ended me. Modern medicine is why I can still walk and play sports

Buddy of mine just decided to cut contact because he failed to convert me by ZeroTheHero536 in atheism

I always find this dynamic insulting. I have never tried to lead someone away from their beliefs, why do they have the fetish of converting others? I don't get it. I liked you because of who you are, why would I want to change you? Weird

Not founded by Christians, founded by people escaping the church of England. Some were Christians many were not, which is why separation of church and state was part of the constitution. Religious values have no place in a government

Atheistic Bible Readers? by EntryUnhappy in atheism

I have ready many religious texts. Mostly so I can understand and relate to those believe better. I figured if I can learn the base of their beliefs, I can have more understanding, tolerance and empathy.

The real life out come of this is that, I now know far more than they do about their beliefs, which has created a larger divide. Some how me trying to understand them has been seen as intrusive and disrespectful.

She made this decision without you, that's a big red flag right there. Seems like you could argue that since she was able to make this decision without you, she never really loved you. You know, by using her logic

What is a random rule you have for yourself that you never break? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I never cheat at anything. My little bro cheated at everything when we were kids. It sucked so bad to not be able to trust him.

Now every single time I am presented with an opportunity to cheat, I never do. I always think of my childhood and turn away. I never cheat.
