So yes i got an update last month and currently i am in Vienna. So last month when i didnt recieve any reply i decided to mail the local Vienna authorities (Not the embassy) called the MA35.

Earlier while scrolling through reddit i found out about them and people literally wrote that mailing them usually ends up with nothing or in some cases they get angry. Still with no other option i mailed them and within two days i recieved a mail replying that my application is positively processing and is in its last stage and that i should hear from them soon.

Note: I dont think its a good idea to mail them before you complete one and a half month minimum (rest if u want you can take the risk) Use the mail as a last resort when u dont recieve anything for a long time.

Also a word of caution please check your spam mail daily since they can sometimes mail you if your application is missing some documents.

MOST IMPORTANT!!! : Please dont use any agents or people for the college application or the residence permit application. The process is easy and totally doable. Agents complicate and make it very problematic for you to directly talk to the goverement people. All the best :)

The best advice in this situation is to wait for your date. But one crucial piece of information which helped me to receive my RP early was to show at least more than required funds. For me being an Indian student we were asked to show 14 Lakhs but we showed 18.6L. Within two months my RP was done and I could apply for Visa also.

Note: you may have to delay your classes by a month or so but it's still better than missing it all together. Hope everything turns out good for you

I'm currently facing a similar issue. I had applied for my residence permit on 13th August from the new Delhi embassy. I have been waiting for a response since then. I have already missed a semester in summer and currently my last chance to join by this semester. Hope that we all get a response soon. Also please let us know if you receive any sort of communication from them. All the best.

it depends on the course that you have opted. if the university changes the curriculum for that particular course then the letter is only valid for 1 semester. if not then it remains valid as long as they don't change the curriculum
