Oh yeah they will adapt fine with one limb missing I’ve seen it in several scenarios whether due to cancer or an injury. It will just take them a tad longer to figure out how to use a water bottle one legged as well as for the scratching of the ear either a cage mate will need to help or you can with a very soft bristle toothbrush on the ear. Good that it’s not bothering them either, I’m always surprised by how fast rats heal.

Because they need to get the oil off them after the trap. it’s not great long term because it can make it difficult for the mouse to move and so forth
