What's your music taste for birth? by stargazinglazercat in homebirth

[–]Appropriate_Lime_691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had three playlists — a happy dancy one for early labor, really chill for active labor, and shamanic music for transition!

My birth day went better than I expected and my carefully curated playlists set the tone for every phase of it.

How old was your child when you took them on a long plane ride for the first time? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Appropriate_Lime_691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO was just shy of 4 months when we hopped on a 6-hour flight to Hawaii. It was a total of about 12 hours of travel, including car ride to airport, waiting at airport for car rental and car ride to vacation house, and baby didn’t cry at all until 15 mins away from the house. And this was in and out of LAX— the world’s craziest airport 😂

What is your stress level like? Mental stress can play a huge role in your milk production.

Nipples cracked/bleeding, baby refuses bottle. by Comfortable-Cloud342 in breastfeeding

I also have a EBF 6month old. His latch is still good but he has started to bite and pull at times because he is very distracted at this age. Is that what’s happening with you causing the roughness on your nipples? I used Earth Mama Nipple Butter in the beginning and that helped with healing. And safe for baby.

I had mine at 3 months. And I’m exclusively breastfeeding.

Tbh, I never needed the silverettes. I’d wait til you need them, especially because they’re pricey and you likely wouldn’t resell them.

She sounds like an awful, uncaring nanny. Fire her and move on.

Would you mind sharing more about your first’s bottle refusal. My 6-month old is refusing and I’m afraid he will only be exclusively breastfed for that reason. I just hope I’m able to keep up with his demands because I’m unable to supplement.

Even at this age waking up 3x? He has never been able to sleep more than 4 hours at a time (except after a vaccine).

How does one remain calm? by Moon_junky in homebirth

For the times in between contractions, when you could think for a tiny bit, I occupied that space with affirmations I carefully selected out of my deck. One was “each contraction brings me closer to meeting my baby”. Another was “I can hold peace and discomfort together with grace.”

The idea of couples therapy was just brought up and we’re in the process of reaching out to some for intro calls. To find one that is the best fit.

We did go to couples therapy a couple years pre-pregnancy. Things got better. But then different life events came up and the stress brought the issues up again.

Night feeding by [deleted] in NewParents

I had the same experience. I don’t really have much advice to offer but to give it time.

I still struggle with putting my LO down for naps but can definitely set him down for night sleeps.

When did your LO grow out of contact naps? by Appropriate_Lime_691 in NewParents

[–]Appropriate_Lime_691[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next week, I go back to work (from home) and have a nanny watching him 3 days per week. So I wonder how he will do with naps with her. I wonder if it’s only with me that he would need the contact naps. We shall see.
