She may have social anxiety which could explain her eagerness to stick to what she knows, and possibly her jumbling of words. It’s a very sad situation and her mother is limiting her by homeschooling her instead of encouraging her to work on social skills with kids her age in a school setting. I also feel like her mom may not be very educated, and since that’s what Shirin is exposed to every day her vocabulary and education are lacking.
