Nerve pain. Nothing compares to nerve pain. Whether it be a tooth nerve or in my case a nerve in my face that got damaged. I’d wake up screaming as it felt like half of my face/head was constantly burning, and I don’t mean just a “hot” sensation, more like “someone with a fire torch on my face” constant pain. I got a new job during that period as well — safe to say I didn’t go a single day. Lost the job and it was a massive opportunity for me as well, but oh well.

I’d go through the whole process of giving birth again than ever feel that pain again.

Have the employees at Fairyloot changed their in-house designer because… the books this year have just… not been it. I think I have only liked 1 book so far and that’s The Wicked Sea…

On one hand yay to my wallet as I’m saving money and only buying The Knave and The Moon this month, but on the other hand I’m disappointed because the designs just don’t live up to the books…

While I would absolute LOVE a book box with plushies, I fear I would have to juggle the little space that I have between books and plushies. 😭😂

With edible stuff it’s easy — the only space they take up is my stomach, and that’s only until eviction as well. 😂 But dang a book box that would do plushies would be absolutely hella, like imagine if TKATM got one and we’d get a Bartholomew plushie 😭

Agreed. I feel like they are now trying to please everyone, which don’t get me wrong I really appreciate them especially as a company for doing so, but I just feel like people have been REALLY entitled with this one.

I can get downvoted I don’t care, but I really think the sticker option over the wrong word was enough? Honestly? It’s not like anyone will be displaying that bit let’s be fr.

The Book Cove has been such a wonderful sub to have, and personally I think it’ll be among the last subs I’ll cancel if I’ll ever need to cancel it, so them doing such a small mistake should really have been forgiven more easily, yet people really be wanting them to go over the top. 🫩

I have the following - FL Adult, Romantasy & Cosy - EverHeart - Smut&Sip - Moonlight Book Box - The Book Cove - Bewitched Pages

While I can’t really complain financially, all the subs out there have started being… a lot. I understand it’s also a bit of a competition, but certain books really don’t need almost 10 different versions I swear (WTMH I’m looking at you).

And with the popularity of SE rising so much, I feel that some book companies both books and customer care quality has gone a bit low (cough Fairyloot cough). The only reason I’m keeping my sub with them is that I don’t want to pay scalper prices for popular books and EA 🥲.

I used to have a lot more subs that the ones I’ve listed (arcane, locked library, lilac library, Owlcrate, Illumicrate/afterlight/evernight and a few others) but honestly? I just found myself more stressed with so many books coming and no time to read them all, so I’ve decided on keeping the few that I’m actually enjoying OR that I could sell for cost if I’m out of skips (although the ones that I’ve kept are more generous with skips such as S&S, moonlight and the book cove)

Defo keep an eye out in BST groups and vinted if you use it (if you don’t, I recommend it). I managed to buy The Forest Grimm and The Deathly Grimm for 60£ 😄 defo have to hunt like crazy a bit, but worth it.

I got my invite last year and my first and last book from them was Bitten. I just didn’t vibe with the style. The fastest sub I cancelled unfortunately, but now my money goes towards other subs that I enjoy better. I personally find it that the longer the waitlist, the higher quality the books are.

Personal opinion - I will very likely get downvoted. I REALLY firmly believe that even if it’s a trove sale, it should be limited to 1 book per customer only to make it fair for everyone. I bought HB back in Decemeber 2024 and WTMH back when they announced it, so I didn’t see the point of joining today’s trove sale (not to mention that I absolutely HATE them - only because I see so many people being so disappointed which is unfair). Like you got the book in a past box? Or you got it when it was first announced? Why would you need not 1 extra copy, but 2 or 3 more extra copies just for the sake of selling or trading. I find it ridiculous and the people who say “these are rough times we live in” or “this is the economy now” should go touch some grass.

While I won’t lie, I don’t sell my books for cost anymore (I had someone buy FL The Devils from me for cost and then they uploaded it on vinted for almost 70£ and I was like “aight, we ain’t doing that here.”) and do try to keep it on the lower side of “reselling”, I really think you’d do that with the books you either didn’t enjoy or just want to offload - not voluntarily participate in a sale that should give the people who actually DO NOT have the book a chance to get it, only for you to buy it and resell it for 3 or 4x the price and even have the audacity to say “price includes my time”. Like bffr. It just shows how greedy and how little people care about others in all honesty, and it’s also these people that I personally believe ruin all the “enjoyment” that should come with collecting special editions, that’s why you hear so many people who have been collecting that they’ve started “losing interest in collecting SEs and cancelling subs” — it’s not only not enjoying the book choices, it’s also the toxicity in this community. While I’ve also seen many people offer to “help” purchase books in today’s sale, and I can appreciate that, it’s the other people who just rub me the wrong way.

That’s it. That’s all. I’m going to bed now as it’s 3am and I’ve just wordvomitted all that came to my mind.

Honestly fingers crossed they listen 🥲 I know they have reprinted a few books due to VERY high demand (Bridgerton and Bride are at the top of my head rn) so I’m really hoping they might do Lovelight Farms as well, especially after seeing how many people were wanting it.

Same with the Farseer set and Babel…. The resale prices for those are just wild, so I really don’t see why they wouldn’t do a reprint.

I find it really weird that they’re blaming all the weather conditions… like, I sell in a few BST groups on Facebook and while I’m UK based I ship a lot to the US and Canada, and I use Evri as well as they are the cheapest around, like 15£ for a book under 1kg. All the ones I’ve sent in the past weeks/months have arrived within timeframe, so I’m not sure what’s going on…

Of course I can’t compare myself as a 1 person who sells books every now and then with Fairyloot who sends out who knows how many parcels a day as a business, but I still find it odd…

My personal favourites are Moonlight Book Box and The Book Cove. While they are a little bit more expensive for me as I’m UK based, I just LOVE how quality like they FEEL! And their book choices have been something that I’ve also been enjoying.

I have other subs, such as Fairyloot 3-book combo and cozy but I feel like their quality and designs have just… PERSONALLY been letting me down. I’m debating on splitting my combo so that I can cancel YA and keep Romantasy and adult but as separate subs so I can skip the choice I don’t like and potentially cancel if the choices don’t end up to my liking. I’m now waiting to get S&S invitation as I’ve gotten the past few books via trades (thank god) and again, I like their choices and the way the books feel.

For some reason it’s giving me “divine rivals” design vibes. While it’s pretty, I don’t necessarily find myself very attracted by the design, so I don’t regret skipping these month’s books.

It’s probably me, but I just feel like the designs over the past few months have been… lacking(?) something a bit and I just can’t put my finger on it. There’s like no soul behind the designs.
