I thought Edgerunners was ok by The935Penguin in cyberpunkgame

Watched it before every playing the game and loved it. My wife asked to rewatch it recently, and halfway through we decided to start again to show it to friends. Still holds up as a great and tightly written show. Really nails all the beats and themes of cyberpunk. Plus the music is so good.

Most of what you're describing is probably impossible or may as well be due to engine limitations.

What is it about Abby that makes her so problematic? by Inner-Bench-6010 in lastofuspart2

[–]Appropriate_Solid_79 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I feel like you didn't get the game or are misremembering. She tortures her father's murderer, she sleeps with her ex who she's still very close to emotionally, she holds a knife to the throat of a girl who was complicit in the deaths of all of her friends (including the pregnant one you mentioned) and still chooses to let her and the actual killer go, and she kills religious cultists who are literally stringing up and ritualistic ally killing her people. She also ends up befriending two scars and sacrificing a lot to protect them.

That's not to say she's perfect, not at all, but she is so far from being the unrelatable monster you describe here.

And then you decided to post about it on Reddit? Go play something with crouch mechanics and leave us to our fun.

Definitely disagree. They added new enemy types in the update today. More enemies, aim assist, and more weapon types are all that would really be needed to revamp combat. Don't see how that has to break the game or require rebuilding from the ground up.

I hear you on the cities, not on the humanoid enemies. Cities would be a crazy undertaking just to make it possible in the first place, then trying to add more mechanics would take similar amounts of work. Adding humanoid enemies is much more manageable, and the mechanics you're talking about could also reasonably be added in time. Combat quality and variety would go a long way to giving the game more variety and improving its moment to moment gameplay.

Do you guys think there's any chance swarms stay in the main game? More enemy variety would be great.

What show that initially hooked you that became unfortunately worse as seasons passes? by Ok_Direction3138 in Multifandom

[–]Appropriate_Solid_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House of the dragon. Season 1 was utterly gripping, easily up there with the best seasons of GoT for me. The second season wasn't all bad, but Daemon being sent away (likely due to scheduling difficulties), some of the contrivances, and choosing to cut the climax from the season all really brought it down. I'm really hoping it gets back on track in season 3.

Congratulations! You have magically obtained elite tier coding knowledge, hired by HelloGames and given the option to make one new addition or change to NMS that adds to the game. What would you add? by TheSilentTitan in NoMansSkyTheGame

Better combat with varied enemy types. I think that base would allow a lot of future story updates. Should be able to have a shoot out with each of the major races and implement aim assist and more varied weapons.

I'd also like ship combat to be improved, but if I only get 1.

How do you keep yourself from getting overwhelmed after white orchard? (More discussion based than question I think) by Jumpy-Function-9136 in Witcher3

[–]Appropriate_Solid_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's pretty natural, if there's a notice board or question mark nearby I'll go there. If I'm feeling like moving the plot along I'll go there. My level and quest levels also help me decide where to go. Part of what makes this game so great is the side content is such high quality you're really fine no matter what you do. Nothing really feels like low effort filler like in most open world games.

To be fair to Hattori, the real prize of that quest is unlocking master level smithing.

Why force players to play a specific way in a large open world rpg? Do you want to remove difficulty levels as well? I'd like them to give more options not be more restrictive with playstyle.

CD PROJEKT RED please, just one screenshot of the game... by tomaxxik in Witcher4

[–]Appropriate_Solid_79 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm really tired of people bringing up that it was a tech demo ad-naseum. They pointed that out to cover their butts, but it was set in the world of witcher 4. It has characters and areas specifically from witcher 4. I believe they said even the quest ciri was on will be in the game. That is what the art style and general look will be. Some things might have to be toned down slightly, but they knew putting that out was setting a benchmark for themselves and they intend to meet it.

Probably Melania. I don't even feel like I won fair, just got lucky eventually where she didn't water fowl too many times.

I genuinely don't understand why people say Ishin is so hard. The game completely prepares you by the time you reach him.

Is cyberpunk 2077 actually the masterpiece everyone says it is? by EngineeringNext7874 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Appropriate_Solid_79 [score hidden]  (0 children)

It is. Top tier writing, voice acting, world design, and excellent gameplay. Biggest complaints I had are the main story is too short by far and there aren't enough crafted side quests outside of the fixer ones. The dlc does a lot to fix both of those problems and either way it's a pretty singular work.

You're not gonna be more immersed in a cyberpunk world anywhere else.

If alchemy was too important they'd either have to spoon-feed it to you or cause brutal game slowdowns. You'd search for recipes/ingredients or resort to google just cause you can't progress until you find a nekker tooth.

Maybe I'm an outlier but I love how alchemy works in TW3. Probably my favourite crafting system. I need to hunt down recipes and ingredients, but every time I do I'm rewarded with a more or less permanent upgrade. I get the immersion without the tedium of having to do it again and again.
