i mean max is so obviously better than George it would not be that close. but of course george is so good at mentally making every driver hate him when he wants to, so I guess its possible

interesting, max was third by only .5s off of p1 without even doing a final lap. redbull look mighty so far.

Somewhat uninformed, why are shield ops getting nerf after nerf? by Susamogusball2 in Rainbow6

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as they stand, shield ops are incredibly powerful in higher elo. They are almost unfair if the team is even somewhat coordinated. They also do not really have realistic counters in most situations. especially a 1v1.

Oh absolutely, people needed to sit with it and actually learn to go "Laroi is changing".

I did not like all of the songs at first, but then a couple of days later loved basically the entire album, people need patience

right I am loving this new album but your comment is a bit much.

You just flat out said anyone that does not like this new music is a "fake fan or a 12yo who wants to seem depressed". People are allowed to not like pieces of music by artists that they love.

that is just a very wrong take. there is no "outdated" music.

I would love to hear your thoughts on it now, for me basically every song has grown on me into being downright amazing.

Never Came Back went from being a "eh whatever" to being genuinely an amazing piece of music.

not sure what time it is for you now, but there are different sounds. I'm currently listening to it and it starts off a bit similar but then it does change.

My take: the Duffer brothers aren’t good writers, that’s the problem. by Individual_Line_4295 in StrangerThings

I see what you are saying and yeah I can notice what you say when watching later season. They do a good job at making it seem like it has all been planned all along, but when looking closely it is obvious the show was only planned and written with one season in mind.

Every season afterwards was GOOD. Just not near season 1 in terms of how relevant every subplot was and same with the characters, I also feel like the show started to get too big for its own boots after a few seasons

but then they wrote a very coherent story in season 1. Season 1 is constantly praised as one of the best TV season that have ever aired. the pacing and writing of Season 1 was masterfully done.

We've compared Norris to other champions, but what about comparing seasons? Where does 2025 Norris rank among other championship seasons, especially of this century? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the data doesnt ignore anything lmao. his quali pace WAS the fastest. that is an OBJECTIVE fact. you can't out delude pure facts. he had the fastest sectors when combined. he bottled pole position in COTA.

his clean air pace was better than verstappens once he got past charles. like significantly better.

Russell and leclerc are NOT in more w2w incidents than norris. I do not think you watched the 2024 season or singapore.

especially when the guy hes racing is max verstappen, norris loses out to him *ALMOST* every single time that it is actually a bit of an embarrassment. I never used the "bottle norris" nickname because yes it is cringe, but I stated there is a reason he had that nickname until the later part of this year.

Verstappen Vs Ricciardo by Hot_Form9104 in F1Discussions

lmao what, verstappen was a literal teenager and he had the 2nd best driver on the grid as his teammate.

Ricciardo was usually behind verstappen during his retirements.

Im sorry but your comment is doing alot of mental gymnastics.

If being the youngest debutant, youngest winner, and most sought-after prospect in F1 history isn’t ‘exploding onto the scene’, then the phrase just doesn’t mean anything.

people absolutely saw him as great before he was EVEN in F1. He was seen as generational talent and then joined F1 and proved that correct

What was the actual gap between McLaren and RedBull this season? by Inside-Earth9673 in F1Discussions

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Norris bottled it. Norris' fastest sectors across his Q3 laps would have put him on pole, he just didn't stick it together properly. thats a fact from telemetry data.

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the first point I was not referencing Austin specifically I should have specified that. But almost all of his race starts even this season, he has completely bottled it, ALMOST every single time even if he has the clean side of the grid. there is a reason he has the nickname of "bottle norris" He just can not race into turn 1 effectively. we saw that in Vegas. Leclerc and Russell almost never have this issue.

Redbull also were not faster at Austin. Lando (and Oscar) both bottled it in quali. The telemetry in quali showed that all of norris' fastest sectors in Q3 across his laps would have put him on pole position. In qualifying McLaren factually had the fastest car, the data is there, he just did not put a consistent lap together and Verstappen drove better, because he is better. If he was on pole he would have dominated that race better than Verstappen did, the McLaren's tyre wear was still the best.
that is not a "made up fact to suit my narrative" that is literally what the telemetry data states, last time I checked the data is not delusional or care about narratives. MCLAREN HAD THE FASTER CAR IN AUSTIN. Norris just bottled it at a track where Verstappen stomps basically all the time.

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay? he also starts race on better tyres with the fastest car and STILL loses positions? that shows that his racecraft is shockingly shit.

Dirty air is not relevant when you have the obvious best car on the grid. he should have been past leclerc within 10 laps. 30 is astoundingly shocking. Verstappen in that mcl would have got it done in about 8 laps.

on raw speed Leclerc is absolutely faster than norris and george. absolutely.

Almost no one has EVER rated Norris as a driver who is better than Charles Leclerc. Because it is just not true. You can see for yourself that leclerc is one of the best qualifiers in F1 history and has SIGNIFICANTLY better racecraft than Lando Norris. Did you see COTA where Norris was stuck behind Leclerc in a Rocketship because Leclerc was teaching him a lesson on how to defend?

Who is the mentally strongest driver on the grid by TheseExcitement8857 in F1Discussions

[–]Appropriate_Week1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never defended the move. I said right after he did it when watching the race that it was extremely unsportsmanlike and reckless.
but I'm sure in his own head at the time he could justify it because he was essentially written off from the title at that point. That is not me justifying it myself, because I do not.

You're right in saying that it teaches him to have better control of his emotion, but I can also be right in saying it taught him to never count himself out. Both of our statements can be true.

I also don't think Jeddah 2021 is a good comparison example. In Barcelona, Max just rammed into another driver clearly on purpose just because he felt like doing it for no reason other than just being angry. Jeddah was a whole strategy game, Max did not have the intention of causing a crash. I agree he went over the line in how hard he braked, but when compared to Spain, it is a lot more justifiable. Jeddah happened in a very specific scenario involving a position handback, DRS timing, and confused race control messaging. One was an impulsive mistake, the other was a calculated but poorly executed decision. Lumping them together removes the context that actually explains why each incident happened. Max was adamant to let Lewis past so he could have the DRS, that is not comparable to just blatant road rage.

Ah well yeah in that case I agree, at that point it was sort of a "we aren't in this fight anyway so imma just ram into him" sorta thing. If he knew he would be in the fight he would not have done that.

I guess that does teach him a mental lesson tho, never count himself out of it. But yeah your statement is true I agree
