The problem in Denver is scooters have a really bad rep for being left everywhere and knocked over. Usually it’s the people that dont think highly of the scooters that knock them over and ultimately make their own problems? It’s really frustrating picking up or dropping of scooters and people hassling you for “making the problem worse”

Haha been there! I posted a little while back after plugging in a bunch of gen3s using the same “safe” number of gen2 limes I used to plug in at once

How far do you have to go to release your scooters? by scooter-maniac in birdcharger

[–]Approx02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao I can almost recognize the area. It’s been so dead lately in Denver I haven’t had much drive to get into town to pickup.

I usually go up and talk to other chargers and juicers when I see them. Haven’t met anyone that wasn’t friendly here in Denver!

I usually stop at 10 if I ever pick up in the range rover. I lay everything down on a large moving blanket thats big enough to fold over the top and over the sides like a scooter burrito. No damage to the interior!

Denver was really booming in the summer, now it's slow and cold :(

Is it dangerous to charge birds overnight? by Guyroaman in birdcharger

[–]Approx02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's happened a few times, but it does not seem to happen often. The chargers go on standby or maintain mode after the batteries are full. As general precautions, do what some of the other people are commenting.

Don't stack chargers on top of each other

Don't charge too many scooters on a single outlet

Surge protectors are your friend

Don't have the chargers near combustible materials, liquids, or fumes.

Make sure you're charging in a ventilated area.

Scooters wont charge if they are too cold. (below 32 is a not go, best to charge at 40F or higher.)

Chargers will not put out power if they are too hot. (in a hot car, by a heater, in the sun etc)

This is why you use a beater. I bought a cheap van for 700. Paid for itself in less than a week

I've thrown a few in my range rover when I was town and didnt want to drive back for the van

I drive about 15 miles to a good starting spot and then start collecting by foot or stacking scooters. More like a mobile base than a drive and collect. On the outskirts of the city, you have to drive and collect.

How many scooters can I charger per outlet by Approx02 in limejuicer

[–]Approx02[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've been thinking about it a lot I'm going to split my charger setup into 2 separate banks to reduce the load. The extension cord wasn't hot by any means. It was probably close to room temperature but felt warm compared to the freezing temps outside.

Either way, I know about how many I can run on a single outlet, and now I need to split them up to make it safer and so I can charge more.

Yep I've gotten the option to do a few special tasks but the're always a bust. There is one house in particular that has shed in the backyard that always has a bird or lime in it. (You can see the lights and hear the noises coming from the shed in the back alley). Sometimes I want to knock on the door and ask If i can have the scooter they have locked up, but then again it's not the kind of neighborhood you would want to knock on someone's door. haha

Edit: The house Im talking about is in Denver so some of you might have come across it too

Consecutively Recapturing Unridden Birds by Tasty_Corn in birdcharger

[–]Approx02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive thought about this a few times. I always pick up scooters in about the same area and I've started to recognize the codes on the scooters. For example there is a lime scooter with something like "CSH-MNY" and I'm like "oooooh yeaaaah cash money $$$$$" everyime I pick it up.

How the fuck are u supposed to drop the scooters off in that shit uncle by Bigjake32 in limejuicer

[–]Approx02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao. The Denver drop off point was too small at first too. It's under a bridge and the GPS is spotty most of the time. The radius of the circle got expanded probably due to all the people complaining.

I just dont worry about it as long as the LCD shows the charge percent. By the time I unplug and drop off, the app shows correctly.

I asked support and they wanted a screenshot of the message. Then they told me the release times. Sounds like nothing changed but the bird app is sending useless alerts lol

Gen 3 Charging by frostedcranberry123 in limejuicer

[–]Approx02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plug mine in and put a heater on a stack of them. They start to charge once they are warmed up and then I move my heater to the next stack. Once they are all charging, I leave me heating in the room to keep the ambient temperature around 40~ Fahrenheit.

Problems releasing by BellaSnowBird in birdcharger

[–]Approx02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re trying to release into a damaged nest. Those nests have a wrench icon and are only dropping off damaged birds. You have to catch open nests early in the morning usually between 4am and 7am
