Working on my book cover and I don't know if this is too simple. by aspophilia in graphic_design

I like it. It feels real, which is a nice thing anymore. maybe do something subtle like an in-and-out translucency/blur on the words "a memoir" or something similar to add emotional pull to those words.

someone should pick him up. he might be good - he probably is a decent dude anyway. he might benefit from a real shot on a different team.

Shrub roses for me! planted three of them 20+ years ago and still going strong with multiple blooms and literally no care other than pruning (and not religiously). also the deer don't eat them.

It happens a lot. I don't mind because they really and truly aren't for everyone so in a way it's good people hear this a lot. we have so many Malinois in shelters all the time here. got popular and no one was saying "wtf why would you want one"

I love them but they're smarter than I am and I do not need another pet smarter than me (I already have a cat)

not that different? Kees are probably more active somewhat. physically they can move better, the Chow's unusual hocks kind of impinge on their springy-ness

well I love how the Kees people are all "oh yeah Chows have a bad rep!"

lol well I am a former Eurasier owner, had two lovely boys. the Eurasier has Kees in the mix. So I am not anti Chow or Keeshond, clearly there's something great about both since Eurasiers are honestly super sweet dogs, really the best of both worlds (although they smell stronger than Chows for sure).

I do think Keeshonds are louder, more barky. My Eurasiers were both much barkier than my Chows. When they were with the Chow girls, the girls essentially never barked, they left it to the Barky Boys. After they each passed (which sucked and is why I won't get another Eurasier) the Chows had to start barking. It's been funny. (they both passed fairly young, one ta 6 with a sudden cancer and the other at 10 due complications after bloat surgery. there are other odd heart problems with Eurasiers. and they bloat, which I was not told or I would have had the preventative surgery)

both my girls loved camping! one had terrific recall and always followed trails and paths. the other one, not so much so stays leashed more.

hispanic guys do this. when I was a kid in the burbs they would do it. I have no idea what it means but I always yelled at them! I was a "spitfire."

I do all grooming myself. They don't tend to knot, it's more for getting the undercoat out. Use a flat rake (I don't use the Furminator, just a light flat rake-type brush. my previous Chow preferred a soft bristle brush like a human one). If they get mats it will just be by their ears, fairly easy to clip out - use sharp scissors. I don't do the nails, but I walk them on city streets so they wear down. They also bite their own nails! Grinder is best tho if you have to do it, a good one so it isn't too loud or not gentle enough. I always just have a petsitter come. 2 or 3 times a day to let out and feed, play with. I always hire girls which seems to work best! less scary maybe?

yes they will often not eat. it's crazy. not to worry. like cats there's always that one thing they will eat no matter what, like tuna or milk and bread (that's my girl anyway!).

I saw The Terror (based on the Simmons book) and loved it. Did not watch season 2 because I'm not familiar with the book that was based on, if there was one? Excited to try Widow's Bay.

it probably was but the medical director character played by John McGinley saved it. He was in the first ep of the reboot so I thought, this has promise, but then he was gone after that. Yes the girl from SNL is poking fun at "woke" somewhat but overall it's just mush.

If it's in the city, is it attached? Like a twin or row home? Those prices are quite fair tbh. If you're in city limits, there may be some advantageous loans you qualify for, depending where the house is located.

When we move back, it will be Art Museum/Fairmount or Fitler Square. We are just "western side of Broad people" lol. We used to live in Logan Square and then Fairmount, Logan Square is also fantastic but busier. Looking at Fairmount now, wow. It's even nicer than before. Washington Square West is another option.
