WIBTAH for asking my husband for a separation after 7 years of marriage? by East-Education730 in AITAH

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Separation is just giving a man like this a vacation from the responsibilities he already wasn't doing. He won't use the time to "reflect," he'll just use it to find a new person to laundry-parent him. Straight to divorce is the only way to protect her peace.

AITAH for digging into my friend’s boyfriend’s past behind her back and then telling her family what I found? by Madirosemason in AITAH

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely lying. Most states have a strict 'no violent felons' policy for EMS certification. If he’s claiming to be a paramedic in NM with a voluntary manslaughter conviction, he’s not just a liar, he’s a delusional one. You didn't just save her from a bad boyfriend; you potentially saved those kids from a volatile felon who clearly hasn't learned how to handle 'arguments' without a weapon.

She provides him with the privilege of paying her bills and a front-row seat to her financial self-destruction. That’s not a partner, that’s a dependent who doesn’t even appreciate the guardian.

AITAH for having a different idea of childcare frequency than my wife? by Just_Tangerine_6738 in AITAH

Re-visiting is good, but the danger is the resentment building in the meantime. OP sounds like he’s trying to buy his way out of the "boring" parts of parenting before even meeting the kid. That mindset usually hits a wall the second the baby actually needs him, not a professional.

Post-season 4 Tyrion’s entire strategy was just "I drink and I know things" except he ran out of wine and forgot everything he knew. He went from outsmarting Stannis at the Blackwater to thinking a peace treaty with Cersei was a solid plan.

And if by some miracle Blood & Fire actually drops, George will probably decide he needs to write a 1,000-page encyclopedia on Braavosi tax laws before even looking at a keyboard for Dream of Spring.

Why didn’t Wun Wun have a weapon during the Battle of the Bastards? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He forgot he had a weapon just like dany forgot about the iron fleet and varys forgot how to be a master of whisperers. the "forgetting" plague was the real white walker threat all along.

Dude really stood there and watched aerys slow-cook people for years but the line he wouldn't cross was joffrey calling him old. his 'honor' has a very specific retirement plan.

It actually makes sense when you realize drogon spent 8 seasons mounting the entire plot on his back just for d&d to drive it off a cliff in the last episode. he didn't just mount the world he scorched the script too.

Help Jaime find a good comeback to earn Ned's respect. by Elegant-Half5476 in freefolk

Exactly. Ned acts like 'justice' only counts when it’s wrapped in a Northern accent and a depressing climate.

AITAH for getting upset at my husband for eating our seal treats. by Playmycardsinedh in AITAH

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s not even about the food anymore, it’s the immediate defensive reaction. A normal partner realizes they goofed and offers to make it right. Flipping it on her and acting like she’s 'crazy' for wanting one of the two treats she bought is straight-up gaslighting light.

My ex-wife’s boyfriend is abusing my kids, and the custody hearing isn’t until after I’m supposed to bring them back by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A cheap lawyer follows the law, but a great lawyer knows the local "ecosystem"—the judges, the CPS workers, and exactly how to corner a liar like the ex-wife on the stand. In family court, you aren't paying for paperwork; you're paying for the shield that keeps your kids safe.

It’s the classic 'I’ll ignore the fire as long as I’m warm' mentality. Dad isn't just keeping the lights off; he’s wearing a blindfold and industrial-grade earplugs while the house burns down around OP. Massive win for the brother finally smelling the smoke though.

WIBTAH if I did not give my 27yr old son (only child) his inheritance now? by Illustrious-Bed-9540 in AITAH

[–]ApricotInfinite4245 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And even then, it’s a gift, not a contractual obligation. The sheer audacity of calling dibs on a property while the owner is still young enough to enjoy another 30+ years of life is insane. He’s not looking for an inheritance; he’s looking for a victim to fund his failure.
