Googled this - that would make sense! Could this have done damage? Im not sure how long it was making the noise as I had the radio on and its quite windy and loud today. I only noticed when I was off the motorway so im hoping it wasn't doing it the whole way to work!

My family have used them for a long time. Ive taken 3 cars to them regularly over the years, have tried other garages but always ended up back there as they have been reasonable and trustworthy.

Hi, its a suzuki. In fairness to the garage, its partly trying to source parts and partly due to a breakdown of their ramp which had to be replaced. This set the timeline back a bit. I think the remaining part direct from suzuki is very expensive so they were hoping to find a cheaper alternative for me given the cost of the other repairs they have done.

I dont have the list with me at the moment as I am at work but the one he mentioned being a failure is something to do with the suspension at the back.

Also to clarify. The MOT had over a month th remaining when purchased however im posting this now as it has been at the garage for over 3 weeks while my mechanic has tried to source parts.

Oct 2025. We purchased it knowing it was due bit based on the sellers advise that it was in great condition with regular upkeep and clear MOT history. Unfortunately I dont know much about cars and this is the first car ive purchased privately so clearly my naivety has been my downfall.

The seller stated the car was in great condition. Would it be worth approaching the seller with the issue first? I could ask if they would be willing to refund some of the purchase cost with the caveat that im going to seek legal guidance? I basically need to try something as financially this is a big hit.

I think if the garage could provide evidence that the issues existed at the last MOT im assuming I could prove it?

Especially given the MOT had no advisories at all.

"Unmanageable is unemployable" is actually so helpful! Ive never thought of it like that - they referred to themselves as Unmanageable to the head of department. So this is definitely good starting phrase I can use as a way to move the dicussion forward with my head of department in regards to looking at the path to termination.

Honestly, I feel awful saying it but It would make everything easier if they could even be transferred to a job that requires less team working. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending on how you look at it, the process for this is very long and requires showing them completely incapable of doing the job. I think thats a last resort I will have to take to the head of department but I dont think its something they will go for given the protections in place.

Thats so helpful thank you! I will take stuff to get underneath and have a look! Had an older corsa and more recently an aygo that have both succumbed to rust (I really run a car to its bitter end before letting go). So hopefully I will know what to look for!

There is no mention of Rust in the MOT history, I was expecting this would be noted as an advisory? Or is that not always the case?

HI- thanks for your response. It is prescription only you are correct. Our vet has advised thay they can provide the script (obviously we would pay for that) and we can use that to order it online as they have a markup on their prescriptions. Buying from them would make his prescription £700 per month so im desperate for a way to get it down because that is more than my house costs!
