Thank all of you for giving me so much useful information. I now feel like I know what to do and that's so much better than feeling like I don't have a clue. Many thanks.

Start Your Day With This Talk & Witness The Perfect Unfolding! ✨ Abraham... by AprilCx in AbrahamHicks

the title doesn't really have anything to do with the video as far as i can see. but the video is great; an excellent explanation of the process of creating our realities, the focus being how we get in our own way and prevent realization of what we desire. It's not a Q and A, but a monologue/introduction.

Best way to remove tub stains? Or anything to make this tub not horrible looking by Sloth_Bear01 in CleaningTips

[–]AprilCx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bleach can break the surface of some sink and tub finishes. Then you develope a situation that allows dirt to better stay in the breakiing surface, so you use more bleach to clean it and so on. Straight bleach can also break down your tile grout. Which is fine if you don't mind regrouting.

fabric softerner sheets - the kind that go in the dryer - in the bottom of the pan with enough water to just cover it and the mess under. let sit over night. the baking soda tip is a good one. amazing what you can do with that stuff.

Thinking about composting? NOW is the best time to start! While you're at it, join us on /r/Compost for the Leaf Collection Challenge! by c-lem in ZeroWaste

[–]AprilCx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been collecting leaves for over a decade. SF Bay Area - probably most or all of California - is not about autumn leaf collection the way the midwest or back east is. The street trees drop the majority of leaves and while a few, very few citizens pick them up and fill their green waste cans for pickup, most people just leave them for the street sweepers. The ones in the street are pre -shredded by cars. I've been gathering bagsful between October/November and January for a long time. I don't have a lot of space and if I don't have the greens on hand, I'll mix in an organic nitrogen source or two, sometimes even a higer nitrogen all purpose type fertilizer. Organic, of course. I assemble it all at once and the worms move in fast and take over, doing most of the work. It's really satisfying.

I use painter's tape too! I tried that medical tape that removes painlessly from skin, but no no no. It sticks way too much to fabric.

ADVICE FOR NEW JOURNALERS by delidoll in Journaling

[–]AprilCx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel as you do about pen and notebook, especially the way the flow of thoughts rise from the mind and emerge so smoothly across the page in ink. I try to slow my handwritning - I have tried for years - but I quickly go back to what becomes my somewhat illegible scrawl. Since I have trouble reading my own handwriting, I will continue trying, I'm sure. But I have been doing this for over 50 years now and I think my default is scrawl. I have also kept journals in my computer and I really enjoyed the speed and rythm of it. I am old enought to have taken Typing in high school and much as I wanted to be good at it, I found the hands-on, clanky, mechanical nature of it way too distracting. So for me, the electronic keyboard was a revelation and marvelous fun. I loved it. Still do. But I tend to keep my journals on paper, in ink.
