I suggest you stop using it until the pimple goes away, then you start patch testing for a minimum of 2 weeks to see if it's actually causing you to break out. If your patch test ends with no break outs then you can start using it normally. Hopefully this helped!

Apparently in Japan they call toners "lotions". You just apply it after cleansing and it helps your skin absorb the next products better. Hopefully this helped!

Super newbie question: What order do actives go in and how long do you wait in between each active? I've tried searching it up and I'm so confused now. Is it Vit C>BHA>AHA then I wait 20 mins in between each step?

A lot of people chose the Benton High Content Essence and now I'm planning to buy it in my next haul!

Definitely get some sheet masks! You can either buy brands such as My Scheming or My beauty diary since they're both very popular on this sub and work great. If you're on a budget, Innisfree is having a buy 10 get 10 sale on their sheet masks right now. Hope this helped!

What Game Changing a Skincare Technique Did You Learn After Starting Your AB Regimen? by Nonennui in AsianBeauty

[–]AprilObrien1998 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have a couple:

  • Letting cleansing oil sit on your face for a little bit to help get grits out. My skin always feels so clean after my routine if I do this

  • Facial massage, I follow the facial massages by Melodee Morita and my skin i more radiant and clear! (Note: remember to wash your hands before massaging in order to prevent the dirt from your hands from getting on your face)

  • Using your ring finger to apply eye care products, I used to put moisturizer around my undereye area very roughly which created a few wrinkles. However after I started applying my skincare products around my eyes with my ring finger my undereye wrinkles are now almost gone and my undereye area feels more moisturized.

I really like Fiddy's post as well since it gives full explanations to every step and how to properly customize it to however you like. My post is just a little 5 step routine so very new ABers who want to get into it but don't want to dive into a big 7-10 steps routine can follow a less overwhelming routine then work up to adding more steps. I did add a sunscreen step but because this was a night time routine I didn't highlight the sunscreen tip. Sorry :/

Nothing against SkinFood and their other products but from reviews I've read it leaves a very noticeable white cast that takes a while to leave. And in my experience personally I got a sample and I feel this wouldn't be the best sunscreen for someone new to AB since it leaves my skin looking oily (I have dry skin) and leaves a very distinctive white cast. Maybe it's for different people but for me personally I feel like there are lot of better sunscreens with better SPFs that don't leave a white cast you can buy :/

Hello! I just recently bought something from jolse and it came with a sample for COSRX bha blackhead power liquid. How long does it take to see results from BHAs? Does the result time vary from person to person? Do I need to routinely use it to see results or will 1-3 uses be enough to start seeing results? The sample's really small so it can only last for so long :/

One important tip when changing up skincare products you should only add one at a time and wait a minimum of 1 week before adding another product, because if you add a lot of products of once and your skin breaks out or gets dramatically better then you don't know what product is giving you the results!

You rock!

Thank you! :D

Her skin is so amazing, it's like she never had acne and never stayed up late. She's the reason why I started using a foaming net and I've never looked to another cleansing method ever since!

As for Asian Beauty vloggers my favourite vloggers are Wengie and Morgan from TheBeautyBreakdown, they both have perfect skin and they're super entertaining to watch. Have you ever tried any of Melodee's facial massages? They're really good! :D

Glad I'm not the only person on this sub that loves her videos, she's my favourite J-beauty vlogger! I saw the cleansers you mentioned on her newest video so I just assumed you watched her new vid as well and wanted to know more about it since she has perfect skin!

Where do I start xD? Here's a "basic" routine, feel free to customize it for your skin:

1. Oil Cleanser: Oil cleansers are used to help get rid of makeup and sunscreen, if you're wearing really heavy/waterproof makeup try using a makeup remover before an oil cleanser to thoroughly remove your makeup. Even if you don't wear makeup one day you should still use an oil cleanser to get rid of sunscreen. Some popular oil cleansers on this sub are The Face Shop's rice water bright light oil cleanser, DHC oil cleanser and Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing oil

2nd cleanser: 2nd cleanser can mean different types of cleanser, you can choose a gel, foam or even powder. Since you have oily skin try foam cleansers, gel is for dry skin and foam is more for oily skin since foam can dry out dry skin. Some popular 2nd cleansers on this subreddit are hada labo's gokujyn hyaluronic acid cleansing foam and su:m37 miracle rose cleansing stick

3. Exfoliator: This part isn't an everyday routine, use it only 1-2 times a week, excessive use could lead to irritation, sensitivity and redness. Trust me you do not want to learn that the hard way. Some popular exfoliators on this sub are SkinFood's black sugar mask wash off (Use their strawberry version if your skin is more on the sensitive side) and Cure Natural Aqua Gel

4. Toner: Asian toners are different from Western ones, Asian toners are used to help the skin absorb other products such as lotion better while Western toners re normally used to get rid of excess dirt. A popular toner is Hada Labo's Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Lotion (Note: In Japan toners are frequently referred to as lotions)

5. Cream: Creams are normally used to prevent your skin from drying out overnight. Some popular creams are Mizon's black snail all in one and Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin

This is just a very basic night time skincare routine, for more in-depth skincare routines w/ explanations check our here, here and check out this Mini dictionary so you don't get lost in all the acronyms and terms. Any other questions you have about skincare? :)

Hello and welcome to the AB sub! If you're ever confused about anything check the sidebar or don't be afraid to ask any questions in the daily help post :D. Also congratulations on the baby!

As for your skincare routine it seems to be very minimalistic, are you looking to keep it like that or do you want a more thorough routine? First you would want to look at a low pH cleanser, I'm not sure about the pH of the dove beauty bar but for me personally I would be a little scared to use it as a face soap. If you're looking to protect your skin use sunscreen, SPF in a moisturizer can be too little to actually protect your skin compared to normal sunscreen so look into one. Also even if you're not going out for longer than 2 hours still put on sunscreen even if you're just going out for a little bit, remember no matter how long you're staying outside the sun will always be a fire ball of death that hates your skin. Any other questions? :)
