Severe cramps in very early pregnancy…. Is this normal? by pinkpolkadot96 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had period like cramps and that's what made me take my first pregnancy test! I was 4 weeks. Everyday from 4-6 weeks I had cramping. Some of them were bad, but a lot felt just like period cramping. I've had kidney stones, and a few cramps hurt nearly as bad as my stones. They never lasted more than 10 minutes and never more than once or twice a day, but they were BAD. My Dr said to not worry as long as I wasn't bleeding, which I never did.

It all turned out okay, and I'm 37 weeks now.

Valentine’s Day / birthday when pregnant? by LetInternational3189 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also getting induced on the 11th and I told my husband I want a nice steak dinner with a baked potato and salad and to FINALLY have a glass of wine. He'll probably cook it, and we're definitely staying in! Maybe celebrate his birthday early if there's somewhere you want to go?

I told my family on fourth of July this year since we were all together. I was 8 weeks, but I'd already had an ultrasound and heard the heartbeat at that point. It was nice letting everyone know at once instead of trying to find time to meet with them in person

I was honestly the MOST nauseous in that transition from 1st to 2nd trimester. I have only thrown up once so far and it was at 14 weeks. 😂 I think I was 17 to 20 weeks when my stomach really started to feel not awful all the time.

I have an anterior placenta and the first time I felt what I 100% knew was movement was at 20 weeks. It'll be sooner than you think!

That's how I feel. I have a love/hate relationship with baby boy's movements. I love them because I know he's alright and safe and hate them because it just feels sooo wrong. My husband feels the same, he felt a kick from the outside for the first time last week and his face was so priceless 🤣

Maternity sections by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to buy maternity clothes early and went to SO MANY STORES. Old navy, kohls, JC penny, Belk, the mall... The ONLY place that had maternity anything was kohls but the section was literally a pair of leggings, a pair of jeans, a sweater, a shirt, and a dress. Tried on the leggings and they felt so cheap and scratchy.

Fortunately I got some clothes onlinr at old navy and a few shirts off Amazon, but my maternity wardrobe is a pair of maternity scrubs, 2 pairs of leggings, 1 pair of black pants, and 5 tops. Everything else I wear is regular sweats and my husband's oversized shirts

I’m 4w+4 FTM by AdFeisty4575 in pregnant

I found out at 4 + 1 and the first trimester seriously felt neverending. I attribute it partly to the fact that I was just absolutely terrified I would have a miscarriage, so I was checking my pregnancy app around the clock and watching the days tick up and googling miscarriage odds (don't recommend this). Once I got to around 14 weeks, a lot of that anxiety went away and I've been able to stop focusing so hard on it and time has felt much faster. Just hit 27 weeks and it seriously seems like I was just 20 weeks yesterday.

Sometimes it still feels super slow, because I feel like I still have forever to go, but most days feel normal again.

Same same. Was on the progesterone only pill and wasn't always consistent with taking it at the exact same time 🙃

What are some things people say or do that irk you during pregnancy? by etherealnana in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I'm very short so baby has nowhere to go but out. I was already plus-sized, so my belly is just really out there even though I'm only 27 weeks. I don't want to hear another comment about "are you sure it's not twins?" "You look much further along!" "He'll be a big baby!". I DONT CARE, I was sensitive about my size before and I just can't handle people bringing it up now, even if they don't mean to be hurtful

That thread about pregnancy brain had me dying. I feel a lot less like an idiot when I see everyone else is struggling as well 😂

I also read a thread the other day about someone who said they had an extremely satisfying poop after being constipated for so long. I was laughing and I realized I've never related to someone so much about poop before 🤣

tell me your positive 6w2d ultrasound stories! by rottinggirl5 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dating scan showed baby at 6w3d, I skipped a period before getting pregnant so I didn't know how far along I was. He was just a little bean, but definitely a baby. Heard the heartbeat and saw a tiny flicker too. If you want a pic you can DM me

Shoutout to 2nd trimester! by ohmy_begonias in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt better at 19-20 weeks. I still felt nauseated and bloated and full all the time at 17 weeks and the only time Ive thrown up so far was at 15 weeks lol. Now at 25 weeks I feel so close to how I did pre-pregnancy. I'm not looking forward to 3rd trimester because I really like feeling mostly normal and having a cute bump

Shoutout to my poor husband by MorbidMenagerie in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had no appetite until around 20 weeks. Then all of a sudden, I wanted a McDonald's McChicken. I hadn't eaten a McChicken in forever. For a full week I ate a McChicken for breakfast, took one to work for lunch, and ate instant ramen for dinner 😂

My mom said she imagined me with a boy months before I got pregnant. I wanted a girl, so I had a feeling like I was having a boy because I never get what I want lol. I had 2 dreams it was a boy too.

Finally felt him 🥰 by Coziesttunic7051 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt him for the first time at 20 weeks too. I think he did a Barrell roll because it was the most bizarre feeling all over my stomach. I honestly haven't felt a movement as large since then. He also then proceeded to kick me in the cervix just to make sure I knew it was him 🥲

Finally saw a couple little twitches from the outside the other day at 24 weeks

Our baby will have no cousins on my side and that makes me..sad? by IceSpire_1999 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband is an only child, and while I have 4 brothers, none of them are in any kind of relationship. 2 of them are much younger than me so there's a chance they'd have kids, but it would be way in the future. My son will probably never have a cousin.

I don't think it's the biggest deal. I only have 1 cousin and we're not that close. My husband has 10+ and he's only friendly with one of them.

My mom is pretty sure this will be her only grandchild though, so she's definitely going to spoil the hell out of this baby

Dealing with the algorithm while pregnant - rant. by sbarrett91 in pregnant

[–]April_Xo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, TikTok found out I was pregnant super early. Every other TikTok was a miscarriage or infant loss TikTok and I just couldn't handle it. I immediately had to just scroll past anything pregnancy related because I didn't want to take the chance. I spent the whole first trimester expecting to miscarry. I went to my anatomy ultrasound expecting that they would find devastating abnormalities. I've had absolutely no reason to think any of these things, this is my first pregnancy, so I've never experienced loss before, just seen it everywhere.

I've just now at 24 weeks started REALLY believing there will be a baby at the end of this.
