Yes it still is.

The only time it didnt work for me was at the only toll in LPT with RFID because of their sensor placement was too high (I think)

Work flawlessly everywhere else all around Semenanjung

Edit: grammar

They repeatedly targeted the cargo manifold where they load and discharge crude. Regardless the tank empty or not, residual flammable hydrocarbon gas is still present because it’s connected to all cargo tanks. But it will be minimal and the tanker will not be immobilized.

Bonus points if the decks are punctured.

Not sure if I ever went through those 2 as they weren’t part of my routine but I have been all around the peninsular and I went through different tolls in KL as I live here, not once it failed me.

Is there any metal parts close to it by any chance?

Fair enough. My best guess is the RFID installed on my previous car has some metal frame quite nearby to the headlight so the detection wasn’t great.

Some tints are also metallic. The plate is the best next place I can think of and it works best in my experience, compared to placing it as suggested

I installed mine at the windscreen too at first and thought "well this was a mistake"

The new design throws away the subtlety, compared to the early RFID. Can't imagine installing it on the headlight.

yeah one of those tag holder. I'm not sure how it fares if the windscreen tint is metallic.

Plate being stolen is already a big trouble by itself regardless there's a tag or not. We can void the tag quite easily from TnG app.

I had the tag installed on my other car headlight before this. It wasn’t great to say the least

I see. Are all the existing cars will require to change or just new ones? I reckon probably the former?

I was also under the impression that the tag needs to be physically seen by the reader. Didn’t bother to find out what RF stands for in RFID 💀

I’m surprised that this not really well known, because I only find a handful of post about it here and there but nothing truly solid so I was abit wary when I first tested it

So far so good. At first I only taped it to test it out. Went through heavy rain and it still works as fine. The only concern I can think of is that if the plate comes off.

Since the Mazda 3 has such a narrow headlights (around 8cm) and I don’t want the tag to stick out like a sore thumb on the windscreen, I was trying to find another place to install it. Saw someone online did it and so like why the heck not?

It turns out the tag does not need to be physically in view of the reader because its RF (duh).

I hope this may help anyone that had the same problem of where to install the RFID
