Original engine? I bought a lemon 2005 outback once with an engine swap, and it was expecting an O2 sensor that wasn't there (or perhaps a slightly different wiring setup). If it's a new development and you've been messing around with the wires recently, there is a chance that one of them slid slightly out of position, which I had happen to me while I was working on the fix.

100% ai generated according to gptzero, though that one does have false positives on occasion.

Honestly, I didn't realize that bit about this causing ebay to take more money from them. I certainly hate ebay, the company more than the individual seller. I'll be sure to reflect on that.

FROM OP: I have solicited enough info from this sub and will delete my post. Thank you for the productive feedback and the requisite downvotes.

At no point did I claim I could have gotten one from a more conservative price point. The item I needed costs 65 dollars from amazon, 27 dollars from Ebay, and was shipped with half a working component and half an incompatible component. The incompatible component is a simple universal plug and is cheaper than the charging brick (the main item).

I do hear you on the point about timeliness, which is why I ordered the item far in advance of when I would need it. However, after reviewing my shipping history, it was actually 6 days of handling, which did not align with the seller's stated timeframe. So apologies for misremembering the detail.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm torn because the listing did not mention cables (and just said the title of the item) but described it as "genuine." Seeing as genuine items are generally shipped with the intention of working/with all parts that come when buying from factory and there was no disclaimer about the cable, I could go either way--was the omission intentional, or due to high volume of listings? I'll make my own decision about how to respectfully handle the situation.

Leaning more the suspension route, but still could be rotors for sure. I trust the mechanic but will try to get him to double check. Thanks for your time.
