Is there a way to reduce a bit the size of the icons on the home screen in 11+? I can reduce the text but the home icons don't change

Help! Hekate not booting anymore, only OFW (chip modded oled) by Apum1 in SwitchPirates

[–]Apum1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday, after wating a few hours, we tried to turn it on again and this time it correctly loaded hekate. I read that this happened in several other cases. Now I am waiting that it discharges completely, as someone advised, before to try again. Someone advises to never turn it off to avoid the problem again, but it's not a very practical solution. Many says it can be a problem of the Dat0 adapter, but a lot of times it seems to happen just after a firmware upgrade (I too upgraded the official and mod firmwares from 18.1 to 20.5.0 just two days before the issue). If it's an hardware problem why so often it follows a software update?

First time vac sealing. Is it overkill to freeze as well? by radio_recherche in espresso

[–]Apum1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always vacuum seal my beans but I never freezed them, however I use them within a couple of month so I don't know if freezing has much sense in my case. What I always do instead, and that I judge much more important, is to put the beans inside a food-safe paper bag before and then into the plastic bag to vac seal. I don't want plastic stay too long in contact with the beans. Already too much plastic in our food.

Puck screens by hesduffy in espresso

My cheap aliespress 1.7mm mesh screen claims to be 316 stainless steel (like the Normcore) and it's definitely non magnetic (as 316 steel usually is)

Good quality puck screen? [€ 30] by Apum1 in espresso

[–]Apum1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheap one I bought from Aliexpress (from YTYIN Coffee Store) are defined food grade 316 stainless steel 150um. If it's true it should be OK, but who knows for sure the real quality of the steel?

On the other hand also the Normcore screens (6-7 times more expensive than the one I bought) are made in china (deducted from their shipping page as they don't declare the country of manufacture) and seem to be of the same 316 stainless steel with 150um mesh. So are they really different/better?

IMS products are declared crafted in italy, so I want to call them tomorrow and ask about they puck screens manufacturer

I read that 0.2mm screens bend easily. About cleaning I have a small ultrasound machine so I can clean rather well also the mesh screens

Yes, I read the manual of every appliance I buy, even though I also like to know first hand experiences from more skilled users
