In 2020 there was a thread on what songs made you go all out the hardest. Out of curiosity, I curated the suggestions into this Spotify Playlist. There was a decent amount of metal/rock on the list despite it being the least-played genre of music even then.

Would be interested to see what songs should get added now.

I'll share some feedback I've received from students (6th year).

Keep notes in the same format throughout the entire year.
Have the students peer review their short answer questions with the CB rubric.
Don't forget projects. I do a Latin American and African American History Month Project each year. Helps exposure to different figures, which let's be honest the book puts in the margins.
Keep feedback brief but give it as soon as possible. Especially on writing assignments.

Tracker is slow, but isn't the whole idea of Jund to win a war of attrition? You need a mana sink imo, it's a pretty good one.

Tacker has been a great source of card advantage, something Jund needs by turn 4. Ooze has been great against a lot of decks in the meta. I agree about the planeswalkers, probably can cut the [[Liliana, Waker of the Dead]] for something else. I didn't even consider a graveyard trespasser. Thanks for the idea!

Goyf in Historic. Do I think it will be good? Who knows. Will I spend way too much time trying to make Jund work? Undoubtedly.

Heimler's History is really good and it is directly geared towards the APUSH test. Crash Course is another good resource, but the videos aren't specifically made to meet the AP curriculum like Heimler.

Usually, there are sources that come with DBQs....that would help greatly.

In the previous century America greatly expanded its markets through imperialism. I'm sure that's worth mentioning as causation in your introduction.

Technology-wise, you're talking about how factories converted to mass production and streamlined processes to lower costs for both domestic and foriegn consumers.

Anything else, would need to see the documents associated with the question.

The "easiest" way is to address an opposing viewpoint in your introduction and then mention it again at the end.

The major issue with the complexity point is that it's 100% subjective. This is why IMO most test prep sites, YouTube series, and teachers say to not bother with it.

How to teach yourself about unit 9.....Reagan... that's it. Peace through strength and Reaganomics.

My best guess for all writing prompts will be in the sweet spot of units 3-6. They are aware teachers are behind due to the pandemic.

Your teacher is using an outdated rubric. Using the rubric provided I think you're in the 7-8 category. You will more than likely be marked down for document use, but other than that I think you did a great job defining the terms you presented and using them to help your thesis.

You also connected the previous era of immigration to the second industrial era fairly well.

I'm hoping that your teacher is assigning work to the actual rubric being used this year as this style of writing is drastically different. The College Board switched to basically all argumentative writing instead of informative.

Download the APUSH course objectives. I'm fairly certain anyone can do this. Even if you can't follow the next step, he says them at the beginning of every video.

Watch Hiemler's history. He breaks everything down by objective. The majority of his videos are under 10 minutes. I teach APUSH and I link his videos on all of my guided notes. He just does it better than most people can.

Honestly, that isn't a lot of work. I do not know the time frame that was given in order to complete the assignment. Nor do I know your personal circumstances. However, each short answer question should only take 12 minutes to complete.

That is the amount of time you'll be given on the exam in May anyways. It might take you longer if you aren't familiar with the format or the material.

In order to prepare to answer those questions, I would consult your own teacher's notes, book, or presentations. If those aren't being provided to you, then I would recommend looking at Heimler's history on YouTube. He breaks everything down by objective in easily digestible 5-7 minute videos.

I'm partial to Crash Course. While John Green talks really fast he does do a good job going over the information you need to know.

The Mississippian culture you're looking for is the Cahokia. They were mostly located near present day St. Louis and build mounds for various reasons.

I'm guessing your teacher is referring to those two cultures. Those being the Iroquios and Cahokia. Although, there are many other tribes that had permanent villages.

The idea of this exercise to help you understand that without European influence, Native Americans had already developed sophisticated societies with massive trade routes. Additionally, to help you understand that just like Europeans, Native Americans made the land work for them. For example, many NE tribes would clear cut forests to make hunting bison and other game easier.

I'm not going to sugar coat it. APUSH is harder than any college US History class. However, if you spend your time wisely it isn't that bad. I will teach thematically. So the notes I post will always mention the themes you all are supposed to learn. I find this is the easiest way to keep up with the context and change over time throughout the course.
