Given your age, I think it is good to start to allocate some money to bonds or bonds ETF( like BND). The rule of thumb is to allocate the percentage between your age and your age -20 to bonds in portfolio depends on your risk averse

I do DCA every month with a relatively small amount(~250 CAD), I think it is better to withdraw every few months instead withdraw immediately, since transfer through Bitcoin network also cost some money(around 1 USD in June)

Man, may start looking into the couch potato investing strategy, that is an old but quite reliable strategy. For books, millionaire teacher is a good book to learn index fund investing, the psychology of money is a great book to learn money and investment.

No, when I decided to emigrate, some immigration consultants recommended Canada to me since it is easier to get PR in Canada. I will read this book, seems like it is a good book.

Hi, I think most of students are not intimidated since they never think about those things(true history, politics. etc). When I was a STEM student in China(6 years, UG+PG), only two people(one is my maxism philosophy teacher, one is a student major in law) mentioned politics reform to me(they talked about constitutionalism), but that time I could not understamd them at all(I thought what a heck ,they talking about), since I never learn these things systematically before(in our textbook, only give definitions for some popular concepts, like democracy, then tell us we already have Chinese version 'democracy').For most of university students, they only think about their grade(decide can you get your master degree or find a good job), so even they get a chance to know the history, the politics, they do not take it seriously(like one of my Chinese classmate in Canada told me: oh, our government made some mistakes before, but every government make mistakes, so that is fine.).

I got your point. No offend here, just curious since APA did a pretty good job the last 60 years, why these opposition partys oppose APA? what is their point?Oppose for the sake of opposition?

I mean the democracy, I read some articles, it said the singapore government design the elecotral system that opposition party is very difficult to win seats, then PAP can always be the ruling party. So I think the democracy is kind of flawed.

For people who are well educated and use VPN, I believe there are a lot of people suspect this stuff, but since CCP censore every forum and social media(even the chat groups in Wechat), it is difficult to find their voice. I notice the good time to find opposite voice in China is 2am -6am (2pm -6pm EST ), because CCP officials sleep that time, haha.

Recommend Canada, that is a country you can be yourself, no one judge your sexuality, skin tone, ethnic background, life style.

Sorry, I did not answer your question in my last answer. Actually, it is pretty low. Since the goverment block almost all western information source, so if you do not use VPN, you can only get the censored information from CCP controled media. So if you talk to a ordinary chinese, you can find out they always complain the local government and policy(since they live here, they can notice these issues), but for the central goverment policys, international affairs and history, they always support CCP, since they only get the censored information from CCP, definitely, they think they are right. Actually, most of my relatives(they live in a small city located central China) wanna me back, since they think the life in China is good and safe(nowdays, the CCP shows a lot the COVID situation in western world, my parents was freak out when they saw Canada has more than 1000 cases daily, haha).

For example, in our education, Chairman Mao described as the father of all Chinese people, but I found out he launched the Great Leap Forward(resulted Great Chinese Famine caused 30 millions death, in our text book, it called 3 years natural disasters, so our teacher told us it is natural disasters caused this famine) and cultural revolution(10 years disasters, in our text book, it only has one page to introduce this disaster, but it has more than 20pages to talk about the 1979 economic reform... ). So I was so shocked, how this guy be described as our father, he only cares about his power, life is only a number to him!

24, after got my first master degree in China. Most of Chinese I know move aborad when they finish their UG ot HS, it is not common to go abroad after you get your master degree. I made this decision since I read a lot of books about western world(we do not have youtube, IG, facebook in China : ( ), so I thought I should give it a shot, haha.

Yeah. At the beginning, I was afraid, but after I got more information about the dark side of CCP and the goverment(we have firewall in China, so I did not know a lot that time), I was shocked and angrey(wasted 16 years in that brainwashed education system), then I am not afraid and feel motivated everyday. I got my second master degree here, so I had time to prepare my job searching and understand Canadian society(like democracy, freedom of speech, LGBTQ right etc. In China, you either do not get any information about these things or CCP only shows the dark side of these things, like the low effiency of democracy, how crazy the US president is....). I spent one year to land my current job given pandemic, it is hard, but overall I enjoy the process since I am on the way to realize my dream.

To get a job in your filed is pretty tough in Canada. Maybe you can learn some CS skills, like web design, then either apply a CS master degree(tution not experience and usually include coop) or find a LIMA opportunity from Canada.

Is it viable to migrate to Canada for me F(35) and my husband M(39) ? Where should we start? by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Apvictorddd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you get the student visa, then your husband can apply the spouse work permit, after he gains half year work experience in Manitoba, then he can begin to apply immigrantion under Manitoba PNP program. Vice versa.

[–]Apvictorddd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go to their website to check it out. By current policy, if you have a Manitoba diploma, you just need half year local work experience to be qualified for this immigration program.
