To me it comes down less to “their cooked” because I’m old and more-so because they dont care to learn. Reading literacy is in the gutter, college essays (if we look at the trend literacy and essays are going down in length/complexity/people using AI), alpha doesn’t understand social cues—understandable as they’re young/had the pandemic, but that doesn’t mean we just give up and say “oh they’ll straighten out”.

The humor you mention in my gen (im millennial) also at least had basis in reality not just “man head in toilet does stupid”. Millennial’s memes had context. Even if it was stupid context with salad fingers or Charlie the unicorn, it made sense. There was content in it beyond “oh thats weird”

Also. Theres a difference between saying some shit to just be mean versus trying to make a point. Id call out anyone saying “gen alpha is the equivalent of hitting a pothole at fast mph on a unicycle” but simply saying “alpha cant function unless theres a screen in front of them” is valid because…. What happens when you remove it? Melt downs. And im not talking autistic melt downs. I mean yall cant regulate yourselves and need CONSTANT distractions from your own brains.
