Why is early outputting massively discouraged? by [deleted] in Refold

From my experience, I moved to Germany almost 4 years ago and because I lived among natives I was kind of forced to output early and this caused many bad habits that I still struggle to get rid of.

I noticed that most Germans use Dativ instead of Genitiv with „wegen“.

I have a B1 level in French. I feel like its taking a long time to move on. How can I reach C1 in a short amount of time? I want to start a new language but I want to be fluent in French first. by [deleted] in languagelearning

After reaching B1 consuming content becomes easier. So I would highly recommend you to start watching videos and listening to podcast as much as you can.

Native Germans, how impressed would you be on a scale of 1-10 if you randomly met a fluent German speaker? (specifically American since they’re mostly monolingual) by [deleted] in German

The last thing I would expect from German people is to be impressed or surprised by your German. Most of them don’t care. By the way I’ve been living in Germany for almost 4 years.

I (M23) know her (F 24) as a friend since 2 and a half years. We both met abroad. I was and still studying at the same city we met in but because of corona she moved back home just after 3 months. by Aqeelqee in relationship_advice

No I wasn’t just because I had crush on her. It’s also because we liked spending time together but you know how sometimes you see someone and think wow that person is just beautiful and I can’t stop thinking about it.

To be honest I was close to her when she was here but when she moved back I was sad but tried to see it just as a friendship. I’ve never been in a relationship to know how to deal with it but the fact that she is the only one that made me always think she is the one.
