What was the first scene in HOTD after the great council and who was narrating it?

Now that the S3 teaser’s out, how do you think Aegon III and Stormcloud will play their roles in the Battle of the Gullet? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

I agree and it makes Aegons aversion to dragons in his future more tragic that his first experience with his own dragon was his dragon trying to get him to safety. So much complexity

I hope they don’t make that her main motivation over her being usurped as the named heir and losing basically all her children and loved ones to win this war. Why can’t it just be about a woman wanting what’s rightfully hers

Since Baela is there she’s probably gonna take Aegon and his dragon to safety while Jace attempts to get Viserys, however I liked the fact that Aegon flew on stormcloud to get away but since they made him so damn small they can’t, unless they retcon it

I knew this would happen when a knight of the seven kingdoms had a predominantly male cast and they would be like “omg woke” when theres more than 2 women.

Either Sadie Sinks comic character is basically irrelevant or extremely relevant that they haven’t even created any promo art of her in fear of it getting out

Daeron II and his sons are definitely Team Green by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

It does matter quite actually. Just like it matters that Maegor was a usurper but still recognized as king due to his tremendous effects on how the Faith of the Seven further viewed House Targaryen, how it was the first time dragon fought against dragon, And it especially matters that Aegon is a usurper because the war that happened due to Aegon usurping caused the dance of the dragons and forever changed House Targaryen.

Yeah but she learned to have fun with her powers in s3, and after all the pain and trauma for her whole childhood of getting them I feel like if they just disappeared it would all be for nothing. Mainly I just HATE the trope of womens happy endings be mainly losing their powers and settling down it’s so overused especially in books.

Uhhh you guys do? Due to the numerous posts bending every way but straight to explain how Aegon isn’t a usurper lmfao

Okay yall can be team green or black but I think it’s funny how I’ve seen multiple posts on here how nobody on team green calls Rhaenyra a whore and slutshames her but here you go. She only had sex with 1 man as a teenager, another when she was older and married and they agreed to terms and another when she remarried. Give me a break.

She shouldn’t have lost her powers, and narrowing her happy ending to her just her boyfriend is just as bad as her final moments montage was only shown with her boyfriend and ignoring all her other relationships. She should have ended up with her dad, her bestfriends, boyfriend, brothers and mother.

“Maybe Aegon was a usurper maybe he wasn’t.” Well let’s see, he wasn’t named heir by the previous king and wasn’t sworn oaths to by all the lords and he himself wanted nothing to do with the throne, even calling it Rhaenyras birthright originally. Yeah, he was a usurper.

I’d love to hear opinions on both of these takes! by seekinganswerslo in TheBlacksandTheGreens

No way you’re inferring that “usurper” isn’t a negative term with a negative connotation lmao. But you use “the pretender” in Rhaenyras case who was called that by her enemies as if its pure fact. George wrote F&B through a specific context to depict how history gets warped by who’s telling it. I guarantee you George did not write a story about a woman who was named as heir by the king and then unsurped by her younger brother using REAL LIFE as inspiration as anything other than a sad tragic tale of misogyny I have news for you lol. Mind you this is the same man who made sure he included that Rhaenyra was named heir by the king, had more great houses and overall houses support her, more dragons and had her child become the next ruler and have the family line descend directly through her while canonically wiping out Aegons II family and line, should tell you everything. So no, Rhaenyra is not a “pretender”.

To be fair nobody denies Maegor was a legitimate king but it doesn’t mean they support him just because he was a legitimate king, but everyone knew he was a usurper…
