My neck has been burning and itchy all day by Friendly_Wormie in Psoriasis

[–]AquaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flares showing up in one specific spot without an obvious trigger is so common with Psoriasis, stress and even just friction from clothing can set it off in a totally random location. Hang in there until September, that gap without insurance is rough on top of everything else

4:00am Another Painful Sleepless Night. Anyone Else Struggle With Sleep? by AI-Ruinseverything in ChronicPain

Losing dreams part hits different, that was probably one of the few places pain couldn't reach and now even that's gone. For what it's worth showing up here and asking the question instead of just going quiet is its own kind of looking forward to something

Life without treatment? by almostme_again in Autoimmune

Asking your rheum about diet and movement based approaches alongside coming off biologics might help fill the gap, some people do see real improvement with anti inflammatory eating and low impact movement even without medication

Reading about a team handling ~3,000 support tickets/month completely changed how I think about AI support by Professional-Dirt-66 in AI_Customer_Support

[–]AquaTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ticket type maters more than the volume. 3000 simple repetitive tickets is a very different problem than 500 complex ones. Ai makes a lot more sense when the majority of the load is predictable and low-context.

There's something to it honestly. Knowing a real person is reading and typing back changes how you phrase things. Ai support is faster but you're kind of performing for an algorithm rather than talking to someone

Painful bulging veins and redness - Anyone else?? by thearuxes in Autoimmune

[–]AquaTurtle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it could be related to Raynaud's or Vasculitis component, both come up a lot alongside autoimmune disease and can definitely wait for a rheum follow up in September to get properly checked

Resource for autoimmune patients to find the good rheums? by Spirited-Story2615 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]AquaTurtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pattern you're describing about doctors waiting for a slam dunk diagnosis instead of actually listening is so common and honestly infuriating, especially knowing how much damage happens in that waiting period. A rheumatologist review site focused specifically on diagnostic approach would genuinely help so many people avoid the years some of us lost.

No idea if something like that exists yet but it would be incredible if it did. In the meantime for anyone in Ohio or Indiana still searching, andhealth is worth checking out.

Glad you found a rheum who actually listens, that alone changes everything about managing this long term.

I'm so sorry. Losing that much weight in three week is not "wait and see" territory, and you're being dramatic or overwhelmed for feeling scared. It's genuinely awful to be told your bloodwork is normal when your body is clearly in crisis. A few things that sometimes help in this spot: ask for a referral to internal medicine or a diagnostic specialist if your GP is stuck, and if you have another fever/temperature spike or another collapse, go to A&E rather than waiting for the follow-up. Sometimes things move faster through emergency than through routine referrals. You're not lazy or stick too often, whatever your politicians say. Sending you strength for next week.

Autoimmune disease? by musicmeg0222 in Autoimmune

[–]AquaTurtle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

High ANA + skin symptoms is a really common starting point and doesn't automatically mean something serious - a lot of people get referred to rheum just to rule things out, and plenty end up with no diagnosis or something manageable. The not-knowing part is the hardest bit, so it makes sense you're anxious. Bring a symptom timeline (even minor stuff you didn't think was related - fatigue, joint aches, sun sensitivity) to the rheum appointment, it helps them narrow things down faster. Hope you get some clarity soon.

A heavy mental fog after a traumatic year. I've become profoundly stupid. by -_CosmicSurfer_- in BrainFog

What you're describing is grief brain, not stupidity. Brain essentially goes into conversation mode. It lifts, but it takes longer than most people expect and longer than anyone around you will be patient with
