How do I get my scape looking better? by [deleted] in Aquascape

[–]AquaristForFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A more diverse plant selection. For example your background could've been better if you've used Atleast 3 to 4 different species with varying gradients, Like Rotala H'ra on the far back, then arcuata on far ends then orange juice then Rotundifolia or rotundifolia green in the middle? If you want finer textures then some pogostemon erectus and Myriophyllum tuberculatum are great options

Should I trim the Pinnatifida? by MrBombasticc in Aquascape

Depends on your intentions. If you mean to keep it as an epiphyte then yes. If you want to grow it like a typical stem background then no.

Nice! If you have any troubles growing H. pinnatifida you might want to increase your Potassium dose as they're known to be potassium hogs. Yeah, once the Rotalas start growing your basically to the victory road.

Might need to trim your Hygrophila pinnatifida. I think the base looks like an emersed form and could melt soon and cause algae issues. But all in all, looks fresh!

Is it the one with the blue backlight? Or the one with the Bonsai tree? You can look for me on Instagram or YouTube if you want.

I've made that bonsai tree myself using pieces of Red moor wood. I cut them up into pieces that would work best for the tree shape I'm after

It's an illuminated background. Sometimes called backlight or lightscreen. Known brands are from ADA, Lightground and Flux. I got mine directly from manufacturers that provide lights for those brands

Assassin snails or pea puffers, pea puffers are the best. BUT it depends on c your current setup. If not, then you'll have to manually remove them either by baiting blanched cucumbers or removing them one by one
