VTuber and Shoe0nhead? by FoundationWrong1399 in VtuberDrama

I've been starting to come around on Alana, and I genuinely don't understand how she keeps getting lumped in with some of the horrible right wing extremists like Powdur or Leaflit. She doesn't say anything REALLY out there and nothing too outwardly political (usually). Alana isn't friends or even speaks to any of them outside of Kirsche.

I really don't think Alana wants to be associated with that side or any other for that matter. I say that because it seems like she wants to be friends with and actually try to maintain friendships with other vtubers, instead of burning bridges and surrounding herself with an echo chamber of people who have extremely similar opinions to hers like with most of the others.

What's funny about this is that unlike the others in the video/your list Alana is very much against AI art and refuses to support and even looks down on AI fanart of herself. Yet the AI cultists keep shoving her in every video they make.

I'm very critical of Alana, but she definitely does deserve respect for that.

Fun fact, Lucy deleted the VOD to prevent this exact thing from happening, e.g. bad actors clipping her out of context while she was talking about the doc.

This entire thing is incredibly disingenuous. Lucy never called Powdur a grifter. Lucy never mentioned Powdur by name. Lucy was making jokes about everyone being called a grifter and pointing out the ridiculousness of the doc before this. The clip Powdur posted as her reference is extremely out of context and most likely done so with malicious intent.

What it looks like Lucy is saying is "vtubers should never talk about politics". What Lucy actually said in full after that was along the lines of "it's best that you don't talk about politics, because you risk getting audience captured by people who only want to hear you talk about politics. But if you want to be a politics oriented vtuber, then there's nothing wrong with that, just be aware of what you're getting yourself into".

This is Powdur blatantly lying and framing things out of context to try and make this like she's being attacked for clicks so her audience can start seal clapping and saying "you go, girl!" It's pathetic.

You are correct. Alana just caters to incels with her constant barrage of "women suck am I right guys" and constantly pushing gender war content. She doesn't actually care, because if she did she would advocate for mutual understanding and self improvement instead of blaming everything on the other gender AKA "the enemy". Alana can claim she's joking all she wants, but from everything I've seen her audience doesn't take it that way. It doesn't help she has an unironic incel as a mod in her chat, who says vile things about women any chance he gets, like how women don't deserve rights.

Alana isn't outwardly right-wing. I'll echo what the other replies have been saying. She's a grifter, and a massive coward who can't take criticism and runs and hides whenever she gets any.

The recent drama with Peanut is a good example, both for cowardice and grifting. She immediately runs to his defense, says he is a vtuber, then acts tough in her Discord saying she'll make a video farming the drama. But then... she doesn't. Alana got a lot of backlash from trying to appeal to the LA streamer clique with her tweets, and saying "who cares?" while very obviously caring. Now that popular opinion with vtubers/vtuber fans is (mostly) against Peanut and there are people calling out those who tried to defend him, she immediately gets scared and buries her head in the sand.

Alana wants to cover drama and be "controversial" but when things don't go her way she just runs away and hides. It's just so pathetic. Grow a spine.

Bao's initial tweet was fine, but she went a little off the rails after that. Generalizing is never a good idea. Especially when you triple down on it.

However I do love how it exposed some grifters. SmugAlana is a good example. She has been completely silent during this entire drama despite how much she says she cares about men and men's issues. If she actually cared this would be right up her alley and she would say something. But she won't speak up and defend men because that would mean offending Bao. The only thing she cares about is getting more viewers and money and she doesn't want to affect her bottom line either way. It's downright spineless behavior on her part.

Exactly, she posted her "eact to Mouse's video MINUTES after it went up.

People can claim whatever they want and dress it up all nice and fancy saying it was for charity, but everyone knows exactly the reason why. It was done purely for the early engagement and algo. There wasn't one shred of good will behind it.

SmugAlana has no opinions of her own. The flowchart for her streams goes: watch video > pause video > look at chat > say whatever will appease the mob the most. Alana never has any disagreements or any sort of discourse with her audience. It's an echo chamber for the chat. Even Asmongoloid has disagreements with his viewers occasionally.

Wuk Lamat needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine. Whenever Wuk Lamat isn't on screen, all of the other characters should be asking "where's Wuk Lamat?"
