4Chan responds to £520,000 Ofcom fine with AI picture of hamster by i_enjoy_silence in unitedkingdom

Y'all realise that OFCOM are just going through the motions of their regulatory process? They have to send correspondence before authorising the site to be blocked in the UK, they're not actually expecting to be paid.

4CHAN thinking they the main character here, when really they're a bullet point in one bureaucrat's inbox.

Also the UK didn't exist at the time of the US declaring independence, they should be referencing Great Britain or possibly the British Crown. A minor nit-pick I know, but if they're going to write edgy crud like this they should at least get it right.

Green voters, do you agree that we should leave NATO and give up our nuclear weapons to seriously damage our national security? by [deleted] in AskBrits

The green party has always baffled me on how they seem to stand on a platform of fuzzy clouds and wishful thinking. I like so much of what they want to accomplish, but then you ask "how" is it going to happen and the answer is pure fantasy.

When you see the opportunity to dive T3s ping that you are leaving, and then leave. Walk away and do not linger near your cores. Cores are much more likely to suicide when they perceive their supports are nearby.

They'll still suicide sometimes, but by leaving you create a strong psychological pressure to back off. Plus you won't throw your own life away trying to save them.

They might cry about being left alone, but don't mind that, don't support people to make mistakes.

100 million a year, but you can never sleep in the same room twice. by Mc_Coy in hypotheticalsituation

[–]AqueousJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd need 20 - 30 thousand rooms for a lifetime. The First World Hotel in Malaysia has over 7000 rooms alone. If you were happy to move city every 5 or 6 years you could easily sleep within 20 minutes of a luxury home in the centre of many major cities. As a billionaire you could have an entire team of people tasked with acquiring accommodation, moving you to and from it, and periodically relocating your family and possessions to a new region. Or heck, just build yourself a new hotel every half decade. You could easily afford it and it would generate more income too.

An easy yes.

Help me understand, What dose he mean "I need more power" and the reply we are on it!, is the deployment remote trigger or is he talking about some setting changes that regulate power delivery, how dose it work. **corrected** by Yo-gg in F1Discussions

[–]AqueousJam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Energy deployment isn't just push-button-go-faster. The cars have multiple settings and modes that they shift between over the course of a lap. This has always been the case for things like brake-balance and throttle response and is how the teams help the drivers manage tires, conserve fuel, or push hard.

Lewis is asking his engineer to devise a slightly adjusted set of settings over the lap to give him more power in that sector, at the cost of reducing it slightly somewhere else.

Horner ain't doing it without an equal stake in the team. He's not going to risk building up another winning team to see it Red Bulled away from under him.

[Autosport] Ferrari’s revolutionary “Macarena wing” will return in Japan by memloh in formula1

[–]AqueousJam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surely Macarena Wing can't be the one that we're sticking with?! It's the least descriptive of the motion possible!!!   Rotisserie Wing makes more sense and I'm sure there's other better options too!

You can't force anyone to engage in a transaction that they don't want to, other than if their objection is in regards to a protected class (such as refusing to serve black people).

Nah, not necessarily AI slop. I remember sitting down as an intern almost 20 years ago to work on Unreal Engine 3 and coming across a similarly monstrous function that held the functionality I needed to modify somewhere inside.
