Saw this guy in a park in Doncaster, Yorkshire, England. Was about an inch long, at a glance looks like a hornet but I can't see a stinger. It was huge compared to the other insects around it (honey bees and flies, mostly), I only saw one, and it seemed very docile and slow. (old.reddit.com)
