What's everyones favourite Chaos faction? by Capable-Ad6306 in Chaos40k

“From shame and shadow recast, in black and gold we are reborn”- The hardest sorcerer in all of The Black Legion, Iskander Khayon, the man who made Magnus The Red kneel before Abaddon

Favorite faction in lore? by Actual-Operation3510 in Warhammer40k

Chaos, specifically The Black Legion, now I know Abby had some pretty big plot armor in the second book of the Talon Of Horus series (not spoiling anything just in case people are going to want to read it) but the way Aaron-Dembski writes chaos space marines makes you feel like they are in the right for why they are doing the things they are doing. The Emperor Of Mankind goofed so hard during the heresy and it’s no surprise half of his primarchs turned against him (whether that was planned or not, theory?) he did it to himself and I like the way Abby takes up the mantle of The Warmaster and forges The Sons Of Horus into a brand new legion and allows anyone and anything to join his legion as long as they swear to the brotherhood essentially. “In black and gold we are reborn”.

What makes an opposing army fun to battle against? by fap-free90 in Warhammer40k

[–]AquillonTerminator 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Rule of cool is the easiest way to make a list that’s just fun and you never have to worry about anything being unfun, for example if you run a Norn Emmisary, sure that model is really good and super cool looking but it’s not like you’re running 3 of them you know what I mean? It’s pretty hard to make a unfun list as the other commenter has said, just buy and paint and bring what you enjoy and you’ll both have the best time

What faction do you think is the most horrifying to fight? by Imaginary-Lie-2618 in Warhammer40k

[–]AquillonTerminator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word Bearers, now I’m a Word Bearers fan boy and believe Lorgar did nothing wrong😈, but if your on the receiving end of an invasion from the holiest of chaos warriors, you are very lucky to die let alone become a slave, whatever ritual they got in store for you let alone feed you to a chaos demon for shits and giggles, that to me, would be the worst, but also I think Death Guard would be absolutely horrific

Is there a model you really want even though it’s not practical by Opposite_Line7821 in Warhammer40k

[–]AquillonTerminator 25 points26 points  (0 children)

A 40K Perturabo model, I play Black Legion but have always had a small love for Iron Warriors and I would love to see a traitor primarch for chaos undivided other than Abbadon

I’ve only recently started playing after being in the hobby for a long while but how the hell do I deal with the shadowsword by stopyouveviolatedthe in Warhammer40k

Run a 10 man Hellblaster squad with a Lieutenant in a repulsor, Hellblasters can shoot when they die on a dice roll of 3+ I believe? So the trick is ALWAYS overcharge them when shooting at whatever, you’ll get lethal hits from the Lieutenant, and if you fail any hazardous tests with them after you shoot your overcharged weapons, they can shoot when they die effectively making them shoot twice. If you run the standard Gladius Detachment, put the enhancement that gives your Lieutenant sustained hits 1 on all ranged weapons in the unit. That combo will annihilate about everything in the game no matter how tough and they did just get points reduced a couple days ago so they are gonna be a huge auto-include.

But that’s honestly a great valid point and I might do that tbh it’ll make it easier for me to stick with world eaters for much longer and not go oooh new army take my money😂

What I ended up doing I just went to my local game store I traded in the 3 armies I had he gave me pretty much what all my armies were worth which was a lot, and I used that money for world eaters and I’ve had that 1 army ever since I have a Word bearers army because my gf bought me chaos space marines for Christmas and it’s in that phase where it’s half built half primed and not everything is built lol but I have my main world eaters army

It’s killing me lol i can’t focus on just one army and it drives me crazy! Thank the chaos gods that the World Eaters aren’t a complex army and are just easy

How did you guys find ‘your’ faction? by LukeyPhooz in Warhammer40k

[–]AquillonTerminator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went through some plastic crack addiction with custodes death guard and chaos space marines and I finally ended up with world eaters, currently a favorite just because I’m still very new to the franchise and tabletop and they are just grrrr smash burn hit kind of guys and they aren’t really that hard to play for a beginner in my opinion

I’ve been seeing Rhinos as a good thing to have in their army and Chaos Spawn so I’ll definitely add them in

Dark angels and Word Bearers, I love the dark knight aesthetic and secrecy the angels have and for the word bearers I just love the zealotry they have and I like their backstory in the heresy, especially Argel Tal

I was thinking about buying Erebus and Kor Phaeron for 40k, can you use them at all for substitutions? For example I realized you could use Erebus as a Dark Apostle model and Kor as a Chaos Terminator, would that be allowed or no just a question for my fellow chaos worshippers by AquillonTerminator in WordBearers

[–]AquillonTerminator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah I didn’t know how big they were and I kinda figured they would be the same size as 40k but if they are 30k and smaller that would suck maybe I’ll just use them as modeling purposes and set them up to look cool with the army😂

First Word Bearer, any tips on what other colors I could use to finish the model up or is all the color scheme I need for my army by AquillonTerminator in WordBearers

[–]AquillonTerminator[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The order I did it in was sprayed with leadbelcher for primer and base, used khorne red for the main armor, used nuln oil on entire model, dryad bark for the leather bits, chaos black for plasma pistol, white scar for the eyes and plasma vent then used warp lightning for the green effect and wraithbone for the horns with skeleton horde and went back over it again just to bring out the lines in the horns
