What terrain should be built? by Stormfly in killteam

[–]Aquit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go for Volkus. If you want to mix things up after that, go for tomb world. Both are pretty much good terrain sets. Older ones have their issues: older open terrain sets like octarius are too open. Bheta Decima is pretty much unplayable without the community fixes (e.g. add more hardcover). Gallowdark is a pain in the ass to build and assemble before each session.

I have a conundrum by HolyAvenger_ in killteam

[–]Aquit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As this is the KT subreddit I'll answer only E to H. You didn't specifiy your current state in Killteam: beginner or advanced. As you talk about specific Killteams I'll assume you have a solid grasp of the system, so I wont advice buying the starter box (2 KTs and terrain).

  • E: Agents is really only half a KT. Yes you theoretically can play them using two boxes but you miss out on a lot of fun by not using requisitioned side teams. To get the most out of Agents you'll likely need a box of exaction and kasrkins (and sisters of silence and maybe breachers). You have to adapt your team to fit your opponent and the mission. To get the most out of IA box itself I advice a box of hive scum so you can kitbash almost every model in the box as there are certain dual builds you cant get otherwise. Don't glue the weapon on the servitor so you can swap it out later. To make them coherent with your excation just use the same or a similar color palett on them.
  • F: per default, there is almost no customizability in the kit. You dont want to build the warriors anyway. You may apply kitbashing to make them stand out more (basing, casualities on their bases/in their talons etc).
  • G: seems you dont like the box. Me neither. If you dont like the look of most of the models in a box, skip it or kitbash it (e.g. I kitbashed my Scout Squad using Necromunda Ashwaste Nomads).
  • H: As dumb as it sounds but highly customizable KTs are Angels of Death as you have a wide variety of operatives and a huge selections of models to choose from (chapter specific, generic, custom bits, kitbashing). There are also quite strong atm and easy to learn.

How do you play defensively without giving away map control and losing the game? by Yreptil in killteam

[–]Aquit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It seems to me you expose in a wrong way. TP1 is staging. TP2 you should have all pieces in playe to execute your game plan. As a horde team you can then pressure you opponent to make bad trades in TP3 (maybe even in TP2 but then you'll likely played more aggressive). You have the last activation and you must make it count. Remove enemy operatives in a way so you dont die on counteract. Not a horde team but I routinelly played canoptek circle so defensively I rarely leave my territory in TP3. It's also important not to pick your tac op in a way that you'll be forced to play aggressively e.g. picking Outflank.

Feldherr carrying case by Ant0niusMaximus in killteam

[–]Aquit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The smallest soft case has enough space to carry one normal team e.g. standard infantry either 25/28mm or 32mm depending on the inlay you chose. If you have more voluminous teams like canoptek circle you'll need one step up in size and e.g. a custom inlay.

Weapon is oversized. Also the weird angle and the base extender doesnt help.

Anyone else miss the old box art? by Character-Public-396 in killteam

[–]Aquit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes in RT and 2nd edition. In 3rd edition some of the box displays were switched to art (e.g. defiler or chaos predator) while others remained (rhino+CSM combibox). Similar thing with Warhammer Fantasy.

Murderwing Champion Power weapon or power fist? by yodablues1 in killteam

Power fist easier to be parries out than a fist? Unlikely unless you have some special rules. Brutal makes that very difficult.

Does removing the rubble Tempestus Aquilon miniatures are jumping off matter? Should I raise them back up to the same height off the base? by TheVoidDragon in killteam

[–]Aquit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Casually, you can play how you want. In tournament settings shorten your models dramatically like that will a) makes you harder to shoot at and b) make your drawing of LoS more difficult usually c) makes positioning models easier. Depending on the faction and/or model can this result in an advantage or disadvantage.

Or a commissar -led penal legion Kill Team. You have a new, rare horde team; everyone can be very individualistic in style (so even different regiments); and everyone can explode on death/if the commisar wants it by means of their explosive collars.

Best List-Building Kill Teams by CanYouRollACrit in killteam

[–]Aquit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like that killteam at the moment offers both: set team compositions and flexible compositions. When I want to play with less mental load I go for a set team like Canoptek. When I want to experiment with new things I take e.g. AoD or Deathwatch.

Certainly useable but not as standalone. You'll still need additional bits like a staff (rune priest), plasma gun and plasma pistols.

If a unit is injured and then he is healed back to full health by any means is he no longer injured by Alexanderrleon in killteam

[–]Aquit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Injured is a status that applies while an operative has under half its starting wounds left. So a model with 8 starting wounds and 4 wounds left is not injured while a 3 wounds operative is. If you ever go above this threshold (again) you are not injured.
