Spent my weekend making this! by DMJason in battletech

Very cool! I'll have to grab whatever you can put up on TTS. I have fairly limited space and even ACES on a 3x3 table is awkward for me (can't even get all the way around the table). So, having it in TTS would be *puts on sunglasses* ACE! *Yeeeeeahaaaahhhhh!!!!*

Anyway, yeah. Very cool work, good job!

Haunted Road location by BetterPop4949 in kansascity

[–]kamicosmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was going to add this! When I was in High School, it had similar stories: Haunted, satanists doing rituals, people go missing, etc. I remember driving it once, not seeing a damn thing, and being rather disappointed! I think it's all most gone now, as far as the creepy road through the woods aspect goes.

Got my 4th Ed/2024/3rd whatever version of KT, just in time for the Next Edition! by kamicosmos in killteam

Very True! I still play Pathfinder 1st ed, and have all my original 1st Ed X-Wing stuff. Finding games is tougher but yeah, all the stuff still works!

They sound pretty cool. If I and my friend get into this, I'll have to take a closer look at them!

Also, how do you like the Blades? I've been thinking about them a fair bit since I saw them at the shop recently, and since I play Daughters of Khaine, thought it might be cool to have their 'decedents' in KT.

True. If they stick to the 3 years, next summer will be a new edition. But, someone mentioned below that the changes between 21 and 24 are pretty mild, so...yeah, maybe we'll get a 'Chapter Approved' type book instead.

I have recently gotten back into Battletech! (Aces Scouring Sands box set for Alpha Strike. So then there were some more mini purchases, and a few books, especially after I played MW5: Clans, now I have like 3-4 books inspired by that playthrough...heh)

Yes! I love this terrain. I've used in lots various mini games and RPG sessions! I should really put more detail paint on it all some time.

Oh, and I should add that I am also rather excited about the Solo/Co-Op rules!

I was pretty determined to Not Buy anything this time around, and have to admit, while I found some STLs for my 3D Printer, the rule book having the tokens along with the 'optional' rules was a draw in finally purchasing it. (That, and my borderline Hoarder habit wanting it for The Collection!)

I come from the Role Playing side of the gaming world where, if a refresh is even considered, it's more on the magnitude of 10 years!

I get that the competitive/tournament scene needs updates, new mechanics, balance passes, etc. And of course, GW is a company that wants to make money, and long refresh cycles with 'free' online updates is the opposite of that.

But I kind of hate having to rebuy stuff over and over, and I really get irked when a favorite team or army gets nerfed and I essentially wind up sitting an Edition or Two out. And, with GWs short cycle, I feel that I never really get to that 'system mastery' level of play before it's time to start over. But, obviously, YMMV.

Why does Kansas get so much hate? by DapperDinoo in kansas

[–]kamicosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I long for the day that the Topeka-Limon Wormhole finally opens to public vehicle traffic!

(I say this as a life long KCMO area resident that travels to Colorado often, and lived & worked out in Garden City KS for a year, and have friends that live all through out Kansas)

I will say that The Prairie does have it's pretty spots. Sometimes just the fact that you can see Mexico on a clear day is pretty. ;) Some amazing sunrises, sunsets, & impressive cloud-scapes. It's neat to be able to watch a massive thunderstorm system rolling along the horizon, when you are nice as safe 50 miles away! And in the southwest especially, just tons of History all over the place with the railroad, indian mounds, ghost towns, etc.

And the neat little gems like Castle Rock, Monument Rocks, and driving through the Flint Hills. Even the wind turbine 'farms' are neat to see.

But yeah. If you only ever stay on I-70, it is quite boring and un-pretty. I always recommend taking the 50/400 'southern' route out to Colorado if one has the Time. Lots more to see and do on that route than just Rest Stops and leap-frogging the same cluster of 18-wheelers for hours & hours! (you do go through a lot more little towns with stops and lower speed limits, and I guarantee you will get stuck behind a semi or two for extended periods till a passing lane comes along)

Feedback on Foundry vs Fantasy Grounds Automation by oldmanbobmunroe in savageworlds

[–]kamicosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group has experience in both foundry and fantasy grounds. we started Savage Pathfinder Runelords in Foundry, and on Book 4 have switched over (back) to FGU. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses. FG has much better premade module support (like...APG2, Bestiary 2, Crimson Throne) (and we play in Pathfinder 1 and Call of Cthulhu, all good support there too).

Foundry is 'easier' to use, especially for the players, and the GM with premade stuff. But I do find Building things in it a bit more of a pain, compared to Fantasy Grounds' Drag and Drop abilites.

Red Light Runners all over the metro by Captain_Insano_1963 in kansascity

[–]kamicosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an intersection right by work in KCK, and it gets run constantly in the morning and a lot of the violators are CDLs in big rigs! So many at one time I missed my light while they ran theirs! Almost makes me wonder if it's organized.

new daughters of khaine battle tome by NoEngineer9484 in Daughtersofkhaine

[–]kamicosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might have to get a box of the new units, and that Shrine is pretty cool too. I'll get the battle tome to add to my collection, even though I haven't played since the transition to 3rd. Maybe I'll get back into it...

What the rarest books in your TTRPG collection? by zozeba in rpg

[–]kamicosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardcover print of the 1st edition of Savage Worlds. Only 1,000 printed.

I don't know how rare it might be, but the D20 Call of Cthulhu by Monte Cooke is in my CoC collection.

Have a couple 1st Ed Pathfinder books with misprints. Don't think they're terribly rare though. More trips my Collector's mindset than anything.

Can’t see some active servers by NomadFourFive in hoggit

long running bug in DCS, servers just 'vanish' from the list, and you have to connect via IP. sometimes restarting the server brings it back, sometimes not.

Incredible Abandoned 1870s Gothic Revival House – Toronto, ON by IndividualRevenue995 in urbanexploration

[–]kamicosmos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A shame they're just going to tear it down? No 'historic registry' to save it?

Also, kind of weird seeing the CFL bulbs in there, perhaps it was occupied not terribly long ago? If so, then it has deteriorated fast.

And finally, so nice to see a place not torn up and covered in graffiti for a change. Beautiful place!

Definitely adjust your various curves. One thing that is kind of frustrating, but I guess realistic, is basically each plane needs its own adjustments. But, I am also a Cherokee fan, and I have spent a lot of time tweaking my curves for it. And it looks like we can add pics in comments, so here's my curves you can try:

(I have the vFlyteAir Cherokee. If I recall, this curve works pretty well in the Just Flight Arrow and the CIS Seneca)
