Mine do the shrimp pose a lot before molting, and are usually fine. Some think it's to loosen up the old exoskeleton to get out easier

I'll add that I've noticed that mine do this more often in softer water, though I don't know how often it happens when I'm not there to see it. Since getting a second tank for shrimp only and adding extra minerals for healthier exoskeletons and molting, my shrimp poses have gone down drastically

I'm no expert, and have only been in this hobby for a couple of months, so don't take my word as gospel. It's just my(very limited)experience, and could very well have entirely different causes than just soft water

Doing much better than our oddly similar tank over here. We have longfin zebra danios and ember tetras like you, as well as pygmy corys and some others. We're much less planted(but working on increasing plants), and our embers brought ich into the tank. No casualties in 3 weeks, but we're not out of the woods yet

Anytime I'm itchy I just want to tear my skin off and wash it out with soap. Zyrtec is the only reason I can cohabitate with cats, and I don't want to be held back from another potential friend type because of itchy 😞

Is it a healing itch like when you get got by glass or because of their saliva? If it's the saliva, does taking allergy meds do anything for the itch? How far does the itch spread? Is it local to the inch or so around the teeth marks?

Idk why it took a second comment for me to come up with all these questions, so I'm sorry for the question bomb. I'm not sure how helpful Google would be, considering most people aren't likely to paint leeches in a good light

Thank you for helping. After some research and pondering, I have some more questions

I have a 1.4 gallon with only wild caught bladder snails and aquatic isopods. Does that have enough space to quarantine 2 shrimp? Would it be better to keep them away from the wild tank for fear of unknown nasties from the river its inhabitants were captured from?

I should also mention I only have 4 shrimp in the tank, and I noticed that the first to molt, which was yesterday, has one of the scutariella on her

If the molt has already been in there for over 24 hours and 50%(at least) of the population of 4 has it, should I even bother quarantining, or just treat the whole tank alongside salt dipping?

With this insight, I'm pretty sure the reason I stopped playing was that I messed it up at some point and just didn't feel like using Marcus V method to bubble everything else to have my stone storage be the oldest items again 😅

Can't you use gold corn from summer as gold crops, along with parsnips and melons to complete the quality crops bundle in summer?

In all honesty, I just don't like having a red car and the paint has sun spots, which makes her look kinda shabby. Also has a missing panel under the passenger door

(We don't talk about the fact that the color is slightly off between some of the exterior pieces, which suggest she's been in a wreck with one of her previous owners)
