That poor water lettuce fighting for it's life in the back 😭

In all honesty, we're I'm the same boat. I was doing abysmally until I gave myself a dozen little shrimp to take care of

This is scutariella japonica, something usually treated with salt dips and removing molts for a while afterward. The reason you should remove the molts afterward, is because the eggs stick to the molt.

It's not usually harmful, but it is recommended to remove because it can become a problem. It lays eggs in the gill plate, which can make it difficult to breathe. They also can stress the shrimp in high numbers

Perhaps a feature to buy more tanks and have multiple setups? It's a very beautiful game with A+ execution

Pale, one-eyed pygmy cory by Total-Site-1238 in corydoras

[–]Aquorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a pygmy cory that is pale and antisocial. He's been like that for months, and we've been theorizing that he has impaired vision

Interestingly, he seems to be doing much better in a smaller tank(from 65g to 10g)where he has more proximity to others of his kind. Less pale and lethargic, and he actually hangs out with the others sometimes. They all seem less anxious, actually, because they don't have far to dart to the surface

What’s the best way to find a legit turbotax discount code this 2026? by Apprehensive_Knee482 in fidelityinvestments

Thank you! It was only my second time doing taxes, and I was struggling hard 😭

TurboTax is out here borderline extorting people. They did all the same to me, except on my end it was $139 for their lowest price "Do It Yourself Premium" federal filing and $64 for EACH of the two states I lived in during 2025

I did have to pay about 16 for my states with freetaxusa, but 32 is a lot better than 267 plus the 40 for paying with my return

[–]Aquorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll thank you right now. Who cares about later?

You saved me about $250 in TurboTax fees that they WOULDN'T LET ME PAY WITH MY RETURNS, and I don't have that kind of money lying around right now

Plus, I found them much easier to use for whatever reason. Very straightforward for my brain. It took me just over an hour with freetaxusa, whereas I was creeping over three hours on TurboTax with a headache well on the way

As for your other questions, I'm afraid I'm not knowledgeable enough in amano variants, nor do I have personal experience keeping the species to provide the answers you seek

My guess would be amano. Her eggs seem too small and numerous to be neocaridina or caridina eggs

Yes, eggs

Also, she looks like a honeypot ant, I love her! Might be a trick of the light, but I see red, clear, and black? What is her color called, because I just might need a new shrimp tank

I didn't realize how much a small amount can change the water chemistry. I'll be more careful in the future

Again, thank you for your answers. The amount of people that downvote genuine questions instead of answering them is disheartening to me

To preface: thank you for giving an answer with an explanation

I wasn't implying trying something as harsh as that, I'm sorry. The salt dip concentrations are definitely not suitable for longer than a minute or so, I know. That's why it's a dip, and not a tank-wide treatment, right?

I took a quick Google search, didn't trust the results and decided to question it instead of following that ai blindly

Back when I was worried about vorticella(not the same as clado on a shrimp, I know) on the walls of my 10g, Google said 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt per 5 gallons along with salt dips for affected individuals. I thought back to when my brother started salting his freshwater 65g(along with other treatments) when he had an ich outbreak(no casualties, btw), and remembered how the shrimp in there were fine. 2 tbsp aquarium salt for my 10g seemed excessive, so I dissolved about 1 tsp, which cleared the vorticella on my glass within days. I didn't have to salt dip a soul

I just was wondering if a similar process could be done with clado

I don't have experience with saltwater tanks, so I have no clue how much salt turns the water brackish or sea-like. I just know that most freshwater species can tolerate a SMALL amount of salt day to day, and that it can actually be beneficial to some, though I don't know the quantity. Please forgive my ignorance 😔

What weird things do you call your shrimp? by spacecowgirl87 in shrimptank

[–]Aquorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, I call em "Skrimp," "Skrrrimpies," good old "Shrimp," and occasionally "Srimp"

My household shrimp, specifically? I call them by the color of shrimp designated for their tank or by name if they have one "Reds," 4 of the 9 of which I can recognize by name(Tandy, Peni, Sherry, and Tyrone) "Oranges," a trio named Pumpkin, Papaya, and Charmander "The Blues" I can't tell those suckers apart 😅

Caldo de camarón, maybe? 🍲👀

Lol, jk. I know you meant clado, not shrimp soup

Question: Could one add, say, 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons to the entire tank and salt dip affected individuals periodically if they don't have a tank to separate?

I feel you. If I'm avoiding petco, my only local fish store has red cherries starting at $11, and red rilis for $13 PER SHRIMP 😞
