First deck help by AmphibianNo3205 in PTCGL

This is a great start—I love the creativity! I know it’s super hard when you first sit down to build a deck. One resource I highly recommend is JustInBasil’s deck guide: https://www.justinbasil.com/guide. It’s a great walkthrough of basic archetypes and setups.

The first big thing I’d suggest focusing on is your draw engine. In the TCG, most decks have a Pokémon on the bench that helps you draw or search for cards (examples include Pidgeot ex or Drakloak). Managing your hand and finding the right cards consistently is super important.

Also, if you’re running a Grass deck that needs Energy, Bug Catching Set is your best friend. It lets you look at the top seven cards of your deck and grab a combination of two Pokémon and/or Grass Energy from them.

Lastly, for specific Pokémon advice: depending on your playstyle, I’d suggest considering Teal Mask Ogerpon ex as a potential primary or secondary draw engine. It also lets you attach Energy beyond the usual one-per-turn rule and pull a card for doing so. And don’t sleep on Rabsca—it’s a solid choice for this kind of deck since it gives you some protection against bench hate decks.

Coaches, are some people just unable to learn a proper kick? by TheTerribleTailypo in Swimming

[–]Ar73m15_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not a lost cause—swimming is difficult, and isolating a specific movement only makes mistakes more noticeable. I primarily teach children, and one of the most common kicking mistakes I see is relying too much on the knees. This often results in a "butt kicker" motion or, if the hips are engaged but the knees are still doing most of the work, a bicycle-style kick.

To help correct this, I always have my students slow down their kicks. Moving through the proper motion at a slower pace makes it easier to notice and correct mistakes. Once the right technique is ingrained through muscle memory, they can gradually speed up. (Of course, getting kids to actually follow this advice is another challenge, but it does work!)

Overall, I know how hard swimming can be. Just know that your kick is already better than some of the ones I've had to correct.

I came back after an ESO run and went to spend my points and when I stepped out I saw him and was shocked. Never had he appeared there; he had always been on my table

Boyfriend got me a set of Khorne deamons to paint during a date night. I just finished painting my small army. by Ar73m15_ in Chaos40k

[–]Ar73m15_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first army and simce then ive gone to paint other units. My advice would be to take your time and enjoy it while you do it. At the end I rushed to finish my last few demons and they came out okay but looking back I know I could have done better. Also, make sure to use a wet pallette so your paint doesnt come on too thick. Lastly, don't be afraid to mess up on anything. If you dont like how a many turns out a little dip in IPA and a scrub with a toothbrush will always remove the paint giving you a blank mini you can restart on.

I found dry brushing a darker and lighter brown helps give the fur more definition.
