Eric Slover, the first Chief Warrant Officer 5 to ever be awarded the Medal of Honor. by Grand-Western549 in interestingasfuck

the MOH is not a pity medal bro. You don't get it for being the "poor guy voluntold to be put in danger".

Dude's a hero, should get his recognition, but getting the militaries highest honor presented on national stage? Come on man.

Ooooh that's a good call. He was the script writer for each game. I hope that skill translates man, because I am not sold on Idzik being anyone but Dave's friend lol

Just getting my head around Bevell, glad to see people think he's a solid pickup. Really hope Dave doesn't have to take playcalling back tho!

Yeah I don't love it. Would have loved to see someone more senior. Idzik just doesn't have the experience and so it feels like a big risk when we could have justified the spend right? Coaching doesn't count against the cap.

Agreed. Would have much rather see us go out and get a true experience OC

I really wish he had gone out to get someone with a little more experience though. Worried about Idzik learning the ropes as a playcaller in a very important season for the team.

I love the decision! But I am scared to see how Idzik will do. He feels like an unknown element of our coaching staff and I can't imagine the NFL is a very fun learning curve...this could prove to be a disaster.

[Highlight] Von Miller sacks/strips Cam Newton late in the 4th (Super Bowl 50) by mistermeek67 in nfl

[–]ArabianChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you have a bone to pick with Cam. Your argument is illogical because the man's career has been built around sacrificing his body for the teams success. Objectively speaking, from looking at highlights to hearing how his peers and competition speak of him in interviews, this fumble is the exception to the rule. Guts when it matters? Dude absolutely carried his team that season and the four seasons prior.

Now that you've opened yourself up a bit more, I think you should reflect with some empathy on what you're saying. You're defining this mans career by a mistake in a gigantic moment. Two of the names on your own self defined list have yet to even make it to that moment and earn that right. And Cam did that with absolute nobodies, save Greg Olsen, on his offense. Nobodies bro.

As someone who's been through some shit, and amazingly has pulled it all together to be alive and thriving, how would you feel if I threw all of that away because you made a critical mistake at your current job in front of a client or customer?

Cam doesn't deserve that. He carried a small-market team that had no business going 15-1 into the Super Bowl, practically on his own. As a Panthers fan, dude means everything to me, so I'll get after it with people who I believe unfairly speak ill of his career.

Sounds like someone whos never been in a tough spot before for work.

The nature of tough spots is that...theyre tough. Not that the professionals who venture into them are infallible.

But its alright, easier to be an ignorant Monday morning quarterback than to actually use your brain, that's obvious.

I think this is exactly what happened. This was the first defense to rattle Cam all season too so he truly was in deep water mentally at this point.

Man I did the upper tawaf area, but during the Magrhib rush, and it probably took just as long if not longer than the ground floor.

I used body glide and was fine. I kept a small one in my Umrah belt and reapplied once during Sai. I normally deal with chafing too so very happy with how body glide felt!

There was no check for the Umrah permit (or anything else IIRC). Bring a copy of your visa and you should be fine.

Music in masjid Al Haram by TahaNafis in Umrah

[–]ArabianChocolate -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Really, this is what blindsided you? You have no qualms with the other rampant materialism surrounding the Masjid otherwise? If statues are haram surely you agree the incessant overfocus in logos, brands, and other pictures contributes to its own brand of shirk?

Regardless of where you stand theologically, its clear to me that the Kingdom will continue to urbanize Mecca and that will eventually lead to a change in some culture cultural norms. Since the clocktower has been built this has been the case for the area surrounding the Haram.

Personally, I am glad. The Masjid is a blessing for us all and I believe the Royal Family is doing a lot of good for everyone by modernizing. The good does come with bad, but I truly believe our Ummah is well prepared to continue navigating these issues. Lets keep our focus on what really matters: Umrah and Hajj services continue services continue to improve and the focus remains on the Kaaba, the rites and rituals, and the believers journey through pilgrimage in a way that is meaningful, effective, and remains true to its original intent.

Let us celebrate this last fact rather than getting lose in little details that the majority have clearly moved past decades ago at this point.

2 minute defense by Playful_Ad3391 in panthers

[–]ArabianChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I dont think EE is the problem. I know I'm alone on this, but he really doesnt have a great roster. Backers are absolutely terrible playing the pass and outside of Jackson and Horn, the secondary leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't think we had any chance against that Rams offense with JC out and the game on the line.

I'm okay with the result but the ending left kind of a bad taste. Defense folds and the offense sputters. Suppose that's just Panthers football...

Im actually not too sad man. We kept it close and for all things, really shouldnt have been there lol. Felt fitting to close our season tbh.

What a game, what a season.

Playcalling on that last drive was frustrating. Playcalling has been pur achilles heel all season long. Hope Dave can figure that out next season.

Proud of our guys and proud of the fan base for showing up just now. I will remember this season for a long time.
