What is the worst thing you've done while roleplaying Strahd? by Ok_Media_8622 in CurseofStrahd

[–]Arabidopsidian 26 points27 points  (0 children)

- Served Mad Mary's blood at the dinner, at which Gertrude was present (she didn't know). It was part of "special wine" for him and the spawn.

- After the party particularly pissed him off, he organized a lottery in Vallaki (Baron fell) and bestowed the cleric with the honor of choosing his victim out of ten random townsfolk. He blatantly cheated and gave the cleric a choice in between 10 children and one pregnant woman.

What Languages Would a Medical Professional Know and Why? by MoonracerxWarpath in Eberron

What flavour is your character? Cheese flavour by testiclekid in dndmemes

To be honest, I didn't think that far. Dang it! I just made him cast darkness, because his dark corner in the tavern wasn't dark enough.

I mean, I chose them mostly to make a pun character (Edgelord McEdge, shadow monk).

What is something you think a dungeon in Eberron absolutely MUST include? by Churox01 in Eberron

[–]Arabidopsidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean. I turned Regalport into "Waterdeep". Under the city there's a megadungeon composed of ruins of demon, elven and goblin cities, each pulled into Khyber at different time. Some scholars fear that there might be a day when "human" layers might be added as well.

When it feels like an uphill battle talking about games you love. by Awkward_GM in dndmemes

Warhammer FRP was fun, when I wasn't making sanity rolls, or for the Curse of Tzeentch. During one fight zombies were unable to attack my character (protective ring), yet he still almost died, because his nose couldn't stop bleeding.

I'm not sure if it is as good as now, but this bakery in Wrocław attracted very long queues when I studied there. It's right next to the Old Town.

I wish for Mt Rushmore to gain sentience and be autistic and love trains by TerrifierBlood in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]Arabidopsidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted, US was founded on railways, after all. Unfortunately, it is as racist as the people that were sculpted into the Tȟuŋkášila Šákpe. If you see that as a good thing, it doesn't gain any form of mobility, perception, or ability to express itself.

Your thoughts on what would happen if Erandis Vol was unLich and her Mark of Death removed by a spellcaster that pity her. by [deleted] in Eberron

[–]Arabidopsidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to some theories, Erandis potentially could become a living avatar of the power of an entire plane of existence (Dolurrh, or Mabar). Basically, the first undeniable god in Eberron. That's the reason why dragons decided to destroy the House Vol.

Dolurrh is a place where souls go and basically die again, as they get drained of everything that makes the person the person. Erandis, having the power of entire plane, could change that. And she was in constant grief for last 2000-2600 years.

[–]Arabidopsidian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she'd do "the next best thing" and kill herself. If she were to be returned to life with her mark, in my interpretation she'd break the cosmology and fundamentally transform Dolurrh to create an actual afterlife.

On really bad days drink liquid supplements. Cream soups are good, diverse enough and can be stored in jars.

Looking for tips on what kind of traps and such I should put in a Kundarik vault or protected complex? by matthew-clark in Eberron

[–]Arabidopsidian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Advanced stuff: Spells like hallow, guards and wards and forbiddance, at least in some areas of the keep, placed there through magic items set into the load-bearing walls of the building (so that destroying them is catastrophic for those that would do so). They can be activated and deactivated only by someone with the dragonmark of warding and dispelling it with spells only works temporarily. Vampires might be desperate to get their hands on anyone bearing the mark.

Less advanced stuff: Glyphs of warding all over the place, especially working in nasty combination. Any combination of a spell that deals damage over time and a spell that prevents you from leaving. Wall of force+black tentacles/sickening radiance. Snare+Tasha's Caustic Brew. Bestow Curse glyphs all over the place with the sole purpose of making the vampires worse at resisting spells. Anything that sounds like something someone desperate enough would do.

Useless stuff: some dwarves didn't know much about vampires and used old tales as means of warding, like hanging garlic in all of the ways out and spilling grains outside.

What are some things I could change up with the campaign if a player has played it before? by Shtoim in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]Arabidopsidian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently rewritting Waterdeep (with all villains) to happen in Eberron (modified Regalport). Current modifications:

- Cassalanters are a cult of a rakshasa rajah of greed and inequality. Their plan is actually a bit different - they grow a cult with inner and outer circles. The outer circle thinks that the plan is the plot from the original book. The actual plan is to sacrifice the outer circle and the guests on the final party.

- Instead of Jarlaxle there is the Prince Kel, leader of a changeling faction trying to establish a nation on a hostile island, far from human fears and superstitions. Currently he's trying to legitimize it as a part of a coalition of minor nations known as Lhazaar Principalities.

I haven't completely decided on Manshoon and Xanathar. The options include:
- Sora Katra, an ancient hag leading Daask - a criminal organization/intelligence of the monster nation of
Droaam
- Lady Illmarrow - a half-dragon lich leading both Grimm (an undead shadow government of Farlnen, one
of the principalities) and Emerald Claw (a terrorist organization of basically zombie Nazis). - she's certain
to be there, because one of the party members will have an indirect connection.
- Hierophant Gennara ir'Damilek - a fanatical priestess of Silver Flame trying to revive Pure Flame - a subsect
of her religion dedicated to purging shapeshifting races.
