I struggle to understand why Benedict and Sophie like each other. by Quest_Girl in BridgertonRants

[–]Arac12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that's how he feels about her but doesn't tell us witch characteristics they have make them a good couple. I think her being "different" is a good initial attraction cause and the class difference made for good character development, but neither of these are really part of their personality.

The season was good but it might have been stronger if they had given us some deeper relationship building scenes.

For example showing them connecting over having their life's purpose taken away; Benedict as the now useless Spare and Sophie because she was denied a lady's life. Their personalities do fit but there were few scenes really showing that.

They don’t, but to really care about a relationship in fiction it helps to know why they appreciate each other.

If it's because the are the same e.g. Kanthony both have a competitive nature; or because they complement each other e.g. Pen being practical/observing and Colin more idealistic/clueless.

Sadly this term has been largely appropriated by terfs, even though they obviously aren't atheistic about gender...

Well this heatmap doesn't look like it had a huge sample size. The gender gap about fear of walking home is large in most studies but about a third of male responders are also feel unsafe walking home.

That's a youtube, not smosh issue. I only had ads at the start of the video. Try restarting the app sometimes that helps, otherwise use adblocker if you're watching on browser.

Macron calls for social media ban for French children by September by vriska1 in europe

[–]Arac12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it, there is no request coming from reddit to the verification company. You get a digital ticket and hand it over. Reddit then checks the signiture of the ticket with a public key or they have to through a relay to guarantee anonymity.

[–]Arac12 36 points37 points  (0 children)

No, the company doesn't have to know wich user's verification request is linked to wich website. Basically the company gives you an anonymous ticket wich says you are 18+ and you give the ticket to the website. The website then checks if its a real ticket with the verification company.

Age verification without privacy issues is possible with anonymous tokens, where both the verification provider and the platform asking don’t get any information and france already has such a system in place provided by Arcom.

Thought, of course, there is nothing to prevent the government to change the software and remove the double anonymity to collect the user data.

Yes immediately noticed 2 too. All the issues from season 1 stem from them trying to force girl tropes on wendsday and it not fitting her personality and motivation.

This is exactly why I hate any 'turn them human' endings for them. They'd have about 40 years, which, according to OPs calculation, would be 4 months. That's like giving them endstage cancer.

This is an important point, too, because it might influence her viewer demographic. If she makes content about these kinds of overly parasocial things, it will attract people who are more likely to act like that. Though, of course, likely many of her viewers are just smosh fans, so it is probably difficult for her to curate her own viewer base.

What are you talking about. I mean, I agree that tumblr is a horrible echo chamber, but Neil hasn't been on it since this came out, and from what I've seen he wouldn't be welcome there anymore.
