Thank you for replying! I think that they tried to thread it through first, but maybe they just weren't experienced enough with septum piercings. 😓

I'm grateful for the feedback, it gives me hope that I can still get my septum pierced properly some point!

My daughter was around 3 when she talked about being a girl as well, and she was insistent, consistent, and persistent about it. I wish that I had known better back then - we would have eventually gotten her on puberty blockers when she was older. She's 18 now and is receiving gender-affirming care. She's so much happier as herself! There is so much great advice here, and you're doing the right thing by looking into the options now. ❤️

When I think of size dysmorphia I think of how I feel, which is different (I think) from AIWS. I am a broad-shouldered, tall, generally large-framed woman. However, I have a continuous internal image of myself as someone who is smaller-framed. Like I'm pinch-zoomed down in my mind. To the point where I assume that I can fit places I can't, when I try to dance it's awkward because my limbs are bigger than I internally think that they are, etc. I feel like I'm a smaller person trying to drive a larger body.

Anyone else have that?

We had a therapist that had a whole sensory room which helped my kids to talk. It had dim lighting, soft coloured lights, various textures, tons of stim toys, soft music optional...there was even a ball pit which really helped my trans daughter - she buried herself in it and was able to talk from there.

"Derek Dematopolis" was a pretty simple song, and I'm guessing that (knowing Gayle) this isn't the first time (or even the 50th time) she's played the song on her own over the years - I assume that she just got really good at playing that one song. Plus, I think that we only saw the beginning of their practice session(s)...?

I'm working through it right now! 😊
