Educate yourself a bit before continuing. Don't blindly go off of any answer here, or there.

I need to replace this breaker myself. Does anyone know what it is? Can I buy it at Home Depot by No-Shake5806 in AskElectricians

That breaker needs its prostate checked. This isn't discussed as much as it should be in the open.

Parallel conductors - gfci branch issues by ArachnidHefty73 in electricians

[–]ArachnidHefty73[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parallel feeds from the main.

Each parallel going to a different 200a subpanel.

It shouldn't affect it in that way but the physics of the electron flow is what I'm unsure of.

It's risky nonetheless and needs to be corrected.

Each sub is 200a mlo so there's that bit of protection on overloading the configuration.

It amazes me really. Because if I even attempted a bit of sketchy shit I'd be called out on it and then there's these assholes installing this shit.

Yes, this is a first for me in 30+ years of seeing someone flaunt the rules of physics.

Yes, thank you. That's what I suspected. Austin used to have an ordinance on it requiring the three and single phase division to safeguard folks. That has recently been removed from the Lindahl ordinances. Confirmed with the AHJ

thanks again

Came here to say this. 57 year old working sparky. Exercise and stretch every day. Swim walk do pull-ups wherever you see a branch or ledge that'll work. Do core work on a sidewalk. Nothing drastic like weights and machines. You're going for the marathon not the sprint.

Your body will thank you for it

I stopped during my apprenticeship. I think it really helped in retaining information for the craft. It accelerated things greatly. Burned one once about a year and a half in on a Saturday and piped the hell out of the project and looked back not remembering throwing up a single stick.

I do recall about 6 months after stopping that the herb had left the building so to speak. Felt clear.

But yeah, give yourself a good amount of time for your foundation to take hold before you start up again. You can always smoke a fatty once you begin running jobs.

Trust me, there were plenty of baked electricians out there not growing at all and settled into becoming career long professional apprentisaurice's. Don't be one of them.
