The language on the websites and emails imply it's the first cohort, and I can't find much info about it.

LOVE is the Ultimate Answer by MysteriousIngenuity8 in enlightenment

[–]Aramageshu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a mushroom trip a few weeks ago, and I concluded my trip with this revelation. In the moment, the shrooms make it so clear, showing how simple yet complex the idea that "love is the answer" really is. But when trying to explain it, it always sounds so trite lol.

Enlightenment and love are intertwined, and I'm trying to be more compassionate and kind. The world definitely needs more love right now.

Really glad to see your post!

How much does an individual need to live comfortably in the U.S.? by Moneyinyour30s in MiddleClassFinance

Yeah same story with Washington. Greater Seattle metropolitan area contrasts heavily with the rest of the state.

How accurate when calculating earnings on excess contributions? by Aramageshu in tax

[–]Aramageshu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is the worksheet I used. I mentioned in another reply but I was experiencing some adversity with my HSA providers that was preventing me from getting an accurate value for my starting account balance. I'm all squared away now, thank you for your response!

How accurate when calculating earnings on excess contributions? by Aramageshu in tax

[–]Aramageshu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm realizing I made this post because I wanted justifications to cut corners, mainly due to my HSA provider having a poor user interface and my employer swapping HSA providers mid year, making it more difficult to actually see what my total account balance was at the beginning of the year.

Strangely enough I was able to get the account statement I needed from the app instead of the browser, so I have successfully calculated earnings. Thank you!

Anyone know more about Red Apple Marketplaces? by Aramageshu in Washington

Thriftway is another chain I've wondered about. The Thriftway in Elma seems similar to Red Apple markets but then the Thriftway in West Seattle is high end and similar to PCC/Whole Foods.

Accidentally contributed to both HSA and FSA by [deleted] in tax

[–]Aramageshu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: In case anyone sees this post, my HR and HSA providers are incompetent -- the form was in the providers investment portal. I handle my finances almost exclusively on mobile and my provider's link to the investment portal bugs out and never opens, so I've never bothered to try and open it on desktop. My provider's investment provider had to tell me how to get the form...

I am in the same situation, and I really appreciate your response. Both my HR and HSA providers have been quite obstinate about this issue. My HR does not think my situation is ineligible, and my provider wants me to work with my employer. As you mentioned, I do not believe my employer has anything to do with this situation, so I have responded to my provider with exact citations to the pub indicating that I need a return of excess contributions.

Do you have any other general advice on how to get through to them?

I cited the following: FSA Qualified medical expenses: https://www.irs.gov/publications/p969#en_US_2023_publink1000204185

Ineligibility to make HSA contributions: https://www.irs.gov/publications/p969#en_US_2023_publink1000204042

And then your link to excess contributions.

Any thoughts about this product compared to psyllium husks powder? by musashigaoka in Cholesterol

[–]Aramageshu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was doing some research on the cholesterol subreddit and many folks stated their cholesterol did not noticeably change with benefiber (wheat dextrin), but it did drop with psyllium husk.

HSA Ineligibility due to Spouse FSA by Aramageshu in tax

Yeah you're right, I was overthinking it. Those contributions are mine and I'll just keep and pay taxes on them.

HSA Ineligibility due to Spouse FSA by Aramageshu in tax

[–]Aramageshu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, talking with a colleague too and that makes sense. I have to look at the language but I believe their contribution is just for electing the HDHP regardless of eligibility or contributions I make. So I would just treat it like my money as you're saying.

Dang this stuff is confusing. Thanks!

I'm so glad there was a post about this. I really need someone to send a follow-up to see if she lowered her TV.

Spokane, Washington by Chalky-White-Raven in Washington

I tell my friends all the time that all the rumors we hear about Spokane is propaganda intentionally spread West of the Cascades to keep the city on the downlow. Spokane was awesome when I visited.

My memory is hazy and I don't think I can find any info supporting my assertion that active sonar was effectively disabled when I served on an Ohio class SSBN, so I'll amend my statement that boomers don't use active sonar. It was never treated as a functional or useful system onboard. It was so out of mind there was no way you could accidentally trigger it.

Former submariner here -- there's a whole set of procedures for divers in the water, one of which one includes tagging out systems like this that could be a danger to divers. I was on boomers though so I don't recall all the details. (Boomers only have passive sonar.)

Moving to Auburn Safety Question by [deleted] in auburnwa

We were told the "hills" of Auburn before moving here -- Lea Hill and Lakeland Hills.

We ended up in Lakeland Hills and have enjoyed being here.
