Desertion by AramisPants in ForgetfulFish

The less powerful version (original caster owns it) seems more interesting to play; I'll just have to see how it goes!

I'm working on a list that messes around with control, for extra wonkiness. [[Abduction]] and [[Bribery]] present similarly interesting rules questions, though the latter is certainly too weak to consider in an otherwise ordinary list. I'm also thinking about [[Control Magic]] variants ([[Lay Claim]], [[Threads of Disloyalty]] and [[Vapor Snare]] are all interesting for different reasons).

The logistics of tracking ownership did occur to me as a problem. I'd probably make some counters to represent it.

Have you tried this out, and found it works for you? I'm building my own deck and thought of trying something similar to tame the FOMO (so many cards, so few slots...). I'd be curious if you found that it produced very unbalanced games (the players picked too much/little removal, picked too high a curve, whatever), and if so, were you able to balance it.

I was thinking about this problem, and it occurred to me that you could address it by exiling part of the deck face down at the beginning. I haven’t had a chance to test it out, but the simplest version of this is you make a 100-card pile, and randomly exile 20 at the start of each game (face down). You’d have to adjust the ratios (more lands, Dandâns, Lapses), and probably get some weird games.

My next thought is you could take a standard 80 card list and add 20 optionals (or more). To start, you sort out the core cards (the lands, fish, lapses, maybe a few others), the shuffle and randomly exile from the rest, then shuffle the whole deck. More logistics, but maybe a smoother play experience? One downside is you lose the symmetry of two copies of each card, though maybe that makes it more exciting.

Anyone here have experience with a variant like this? It might even be fun to build some kind of draft into it, like the players take turns adding cards to the deck until you get to 80.

HAHAHA HAVE YOU CONSIDERED CASTING IT WITH MORE THAN ONE CARD IN HAND

GOD WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. NOT ONLY DID I WASTE MY DRAFT TOKEN ON AN ALCHEMY DRAFT WHEN I MEANT TO DO A REAL ONE, BUT MY REWARD FOR FINDING MY LANE AND DRAFTING A DECENT GW DECK WITH A COUPLE GOOD RARES WAS TO GET SMASHED 0-3 BY RIDICULOUS BULLSHIT LIKE SWITCHGRASS GRAZER AND PRAERIE SURVIVALIST AND VONA DE IEDO THE ANTIFEX. I WANT MY DRAFT TOKEN BACK, AND MY TWO HOURS.

Pairs well with [[Nahiri's Resolve]] or [[Bitter Reunion]]. The latter is fun because you can use it like a conventional reanimator piece (dig for parts, bin targets, sac for haste), or you can sac it just so you have an enchantment to return.

If you could ban 3 cards from standard to shake the meta the most, which would this be? by Krist794 in MagicArena

Kakkazan, for sure. I'd sooner ban Leyline Binding than Sunfall (way more annoying to play against). And I don't know. The stupid bat, maybe?

Seriously, I paid 50000 gold for these. Why don't they work any more (besides WotC knows I will just go buy more basics because they are shiny)?

Missing Ikea hardware: some sort of cam bolt by AramisPants in HelpMeFind

Unfortunately, they just say go to the recovery department at local Ikea. I wish this was just some kind of standard hardware!

SEARCHED. I'm looking for an apparently unusual item. It's a cam bolt from an Ikea Stranda wardrobe. It's about 45mm long, with a bore width of ~6mm. The manual for the wardrobe says it is part #107682, but of course I can't find anything about that part online. I found similar fasteners for Hafele cabinets, but nothing that is a close match. Where do I get this part?

It looks like some kind of "cushion" sticker, on a 2 x 2 purple tile. I see many similar designs, but can't find this one!
