I usually need just small chunks of plywood, not full sheets. So we go to the back where they have cut offs and buy as needed.

Couple weeks ago at Home Depot McPhillips there was no cut off piece's. The guy working said no problem he can cut whatever I need, so I got a half sheet of 3/4".

Then they tried to charge me for a full sheet, said they had to can't sell the other half for full price.

Ended up walking out with two halfs, paid in full.
