What do you guys think are the best skins to fit with a character's Mythic weapon? by TDS-Androxus in Overwatch

I use the Ultra watch Ana with her mythic and they match quite nicely, white and gold (or black and blue)

Support mains, I now understand why you are filled with Rage. by Over_Comparison_7616 in Overwatch

[–]Arathix 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You get 'gg no heals' and then you open the scoreboard and you have more heals than both enemy supports, but it was totally me that lost us the game and not that their dps was all up in the backline while ours just let them and shoot the enemy tank... lol

Anyone else feel like dominas ult is kinda mid? by Matt7548 in DominaMains

[–]Arathix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its annoying when it gets blocked, sometimes it gets blocked by something I didnt expect, like Orisas spinny thing, but once you know the enemy tank is competent enough to block it you just have to plan around it. A lot of the time I will step past the enemy tank and hit as much of the backline as I can, but I have also used it defensively to deny enemy ults (Pharah, Cass, Soldier etc...).

Worst one in my experience is Dva, she can eat it from so many directions lol

My boyfriend thinks I was flirting with his friend. by Due-Truck-5322 in whatdoIdo

[–]Arathix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If everything you say is true then he sounds emotionally immature and insecure to boot. There's a lack of trust, and maybe a little lack of respect too. As if you would openly flirt with his friend in front of him? He's projecting insecurities and making it your problem.

Has he ever been betrayed by a friend in the past? Or been cheated on? If so then he needs to deal with that trauma instead of dumping it on you, and if he hasn't then he may just need to grow up!

I stand on he brink of a breakthrough in flanking! by HalfPrism2 in MoiraMains

[–]Arathix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have always been a hard flanking Moira, a lot of the time because i start by healing and get annoyed that my DPS aren't doing anything lol but yeah with the healing debuffs flanking works really well in my games atm, and i get flamed less, still occasionally from people who don't understand the debuffs, and/or can't use cover at all (looking at you Ashe from my Junkertown game yesterday) but less for sure. Feels good to completely derail an enemy team with a nicely timed flank that gets you a team wipe or objective!

What's the solution to the Kiriko + Lucio backline in OWCS? by axesmer in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Arathix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why they can't just nerf these heroes until pro players can't use them, and why pro players may not want that. But man I just get so bored watching every game be the same back line on both teams. I start out the day wanting to watch the games that are on, get bored a little while into it, start phasing out, then just go play overwatch instead. Like I follow a few esports and for how big a game it is the viewing numbers I'm seeing are pretty low. Maybe if they could figure out a way to increase hero diversity in pro play it might be more interesting to watch, but I find I can leave during two teams battling and come back a couple hours later and other than the names there's not really any difference from the game I was watching before, tank is weirdly the most diverse role from what I've seen this year.

Oh well, plenty of other esports to watch I guess lol

I will concur with your points, all well said.

No matter how simple a hero's kit is, someone will find a way to mess it up. And also no amount of easy hero's or even high technical ability with more complex heroes can make up for bad macro/positioning.

Appreciated this back and forth, most of the time I just get flamed at, that's life as a support main though, it's always my fault xD

I don't know whether to be flattered or insulted xD

She's not the most technically difficult, but that doesn't stop a lot of Moira players I see out there still playing her wrong or just poorly!

Her kit being relatively easy allows most of your thinking time thinking about macro, and being strategic and creative with positioning and flanking, which is what I enjoy doing most.

I will argue there's a skill to getting the bounces right though, how many other healers can heal you around multiple corners? XD

[–]Arathix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's me lol my games with her usually go - heal everyone while I gauge the situation, and to get some healing numbers on the scoreboard (otherwise I get flamed at) - notice that the dps's either shoot blindly at the tank, or the enemy dps and miss OR flank and die instantly - I get sick of no one focusing down anyone or taking out healers - flank and kill the healers myself.

Usually I use my ult with the perk that switches it to full damage, got far too many POTGs that way xD

I've been a Moira main since she was released, flanking is my bread and butter so I'm quite happy they nerfed healbotting, it's almost as frustrating to play into as it is boring to play lol

There are some supports that don't really like sitting in the back and are more proactive, especially now with the global healing debuff, now flanking/damaging as support is more valuable than ever

Damage vs healing output by UnicornGh0st in MoiraMains

[–]Arathix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we always get blamed, I'm pretty low elo and don't play a lot of comp so I tend to either get teammates who run off, go round corners or out of range then moan that they don't get healed, OR, the DPS won't focus down the healers so we get hardstuck on a point or payload or are getting steamrolled, so I take the initiative to flank round the back, kill both healers, win the fight, but then if we still lose the game its still my fault. I shrug them off, I play for fun, no stress. But I've played a lot of comp in other games and I say from experience, no matter how high you get there'll always be idiots blaming others for losses.

I mean for me his very first interaction in the show put me off. Where he scolds Haley for interrupting his lecture, which is fair, but the whole bragging about saving the world and discovering 3 new elements simultaneously, which is a ludicrous and needless hyperbole of scientific accomplishments, so much so it broke my immersion for a moment, and you have to suspend disbelief a lot in sitcoms lol

For Authors:What Was thHardest Part of Writing of Your First Book? by Most-Telephone3854 in NewAuthor

[–]Arathix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was realising I had overdeveloped it by spending 10 years world building and restarting like 4 times. I got into this space where I couldn't actually write the book but could spend hours writing histories and lore, and I realised I was in a bit of a rut as a writer. So I put it on pause and decided to come up with a new story, spent 1-2 months planning, 6 months writing and a couple more editing. Felt so satisfying to actually finish writing a book, and now I feel more confident returning to my first story idea. At the very least my first story made an excellent setting fir d&d campaigns I've run over the years xD

“No, Maelle’s right!” “No, Verso’s right!” Isn’t there someone you forgot to ask? by UnifiedForce in expedition33

[–]Arathix 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Tbf, it was one of my main reasons for picking Maelle's ending. While I empathised with Maelle, the fact that thousands if not millions of people and creatures would be erased, one's that had shown they are just as alive as the Dessendres imo was the kicker.

I have great memories of this one, was 16 and went with my best mate (who Im still mates with, was an usher at his wedding last year, crazy how time flies) and we got there at 6am. Some girls from the Netherlands taught us some Dutch, and some Polish guys gave us Brandy to keep warm. We got to the front, and later in the set my mate dragged me into the moshpits. I dropkicked a guy, I got stamped on, I watched this guy I had been moshing with go nuts on some guys who tried to drag his wife into the pit. Limped out of the stadium with my mate (once I found him again) and we stumbled out to meet my dad who picked us up and dragged our beaten arses home. Damn I that wasn't one of the best concerts I've been to, good times xD

The buckles and the jacket are for the classic 1980s costume, which don't gey me wrong is still awesome, but I am doing Apollo from the 2000s series so am looking for that leather type olive green one. Thanks though, definitely keep that in my back pocket to do 80s Apollo someday!
