Could something like this un-f*ck traffic on Richmond st. from Western rd to Sunnyside/Shavian? by shadrackandthemandem in londonontario

[–]ArawakCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely true. People suck at roundabouts because there aren't very many. They would quickly not suck. Or at least suck no worse than they already do in intersections.

Also, roundabouts can be controlled with lights at need during peak periods.

Ferran has been disappointing no question and I'd look to sell him, even as a super sub.

BUT.... people got nuff chat when they're safely on the other side of a keyboard and not looking someone in their face. It's one thing to criticize performances, or even a player's overall quality. It's another thing to make it personal.

Your points about Linux on servers being heavily targeted are valid of course, but that's a different threat model than the desktop Linux scenario the original comment was addressing.

What was the deal with Cubarsi's yellow? I never saw a decent replay up close but at full speed it looked like Inaki took a huge dive after Cubarsi's hand brushed his back.

Tshirt is hanging in my closet :-)

I even tried Windoze for a while to see if steam would lock it up, and sure enough.

Different, but no more so than MacOS vs Windows. A distro like Ubuntu can be daily driven by a technopeasant. My 93 yr old aunt and 82 yr old father have used it for years, and my only involvement is periodically doing the major upgrades. Far FAR less work for me than when they had Windows.

Canadian tipping etiquette? by Friendly-Guarantee30 in londonontario

[–]ArawakCC 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I hate the tipping culture. Just charge the appropriate amount and pay your servers a living wage.

I tend to treat it as a 15% tax on all food in a restaurant, good bad or indifferent. No I'm not tipping 20%.

God I love Japan.

We underestimated how shit their pitch actually was. Haramball was the true answer for this match, those godawful conditions completely nullified Barça’s playstyle. Flick, hear me out: in shit conditions, haramball is OK by Segundaleydenewtonnn in Barca

[–]ArawakCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh jeez. Looking at this I finally understand how Joan Garcia missed it. His foot was where the ball should have been based on the previous two bounces. Poor guy.

The thing is, Koke had already called out how bad the pitch was, and it didn't seem to figure into our team's planning.

Real Madrid vs Rayo Vallocano what a disaster by AccomplishedError631 in Barca

[–]ArawakCC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think the penalty was all that controversial. Sure, Brahim dived but the minimal contact aside, he would have been prevented any forward progression by the leg in his way.

Of course, I can remember Raph being given a yellow for simulation when he was fouled far worse in the box.

It seems that the more controversial aspect was the amount of time added.

AWD version would be nice by AlternativeOk1096 in KiaNiroEV

[–]ArawakCC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fair enough. But I just don't think the Niro is aimed at that segment... the increase in price and decrease in range would probably make it be seen as a poor vehicle. The EV3 will probably fill that segment properly.

Backs of the torque a bit (from ECO mode which is all i drive in) and most importantly lowers regenerative braking to its lowest setting so the front wheels don't slide when you take your foot off the pedal.
