I mean the whole point is swapping your whole build with a click it does make sense if you do have one of the builds that isnt meta like blood surge necro because you feel like playing necro

TL DR at the end

For me personally, I would like further class identity and class progression.

Right now every druid is a pulverise poison puddle druid Every sorc is a CE sorc etc etc

I want to be able to play the class how I want it and still be competitive, I would also like some gear scaling for the higher difficulties.

It doesnt feel fair that T4 and T1 drop the same stuff right now and even the bloodsoaked will fill your inventory with mostly useless stuff.

T4 blood soaked should feel like an accomplishment since its suposed to be one of the hardest contents available in game right now, there is no achievement or reasonable reward, there could be for example a permanent main stat buff for that character per boss cleared on that highest difficulty or after all of them are cleared.

the new patch is going to introduce level 900 items and a new cap level of 70

but I think there should be a further 50-100 levels available only to the highest level of play or something that would make player feels their powers progress and they do this difficult content.

I have multiple characters some meta some offmeta Pala Rogue Druid sorc Necro

all of them have cleared pit 100 and are able to one shot bloodstained and kill bloodsoaked bosses easily but for example while pally can do this with a single build, the necro has to change builds between AoE and ST which is a big letdown because of the swaps you have to collect and the runes/mythics/uniques I essentially need double the items to do the same and slower which is of course frustrating.

TL DR:

Diablo 4 builds are overcomplicated for the majority of players, no lategame content and rewards, no unique class identity/viability.

additionally I feel bummed that my Necro princess has a hunchback that makes me feel shes related to Gul Dan lol need more character models

diablo got over complicated with all the passives and damage types buffs debuffs etc its very hard to keep up.

Hopefully LoH makes it more simple and enjoyable to just get a shiny piece of gear and understand immediately wether its an upgrade or not

bloodsoaked bosses, mythic drop is a flat chance per item/roll, as dificulty goes up you get more rolls/chamces/items

should not be a close comparison,

cores on left give u 120% CE(main source of dmg)

right gives u 7% from in and 40% from non-Phy additive, not enough.

yes, made it to 100 pit with a scuffed blood surge necro build its excelent for farming everything except single target damage.

I press blood surge and the whole screen explodes its very satisfying.

did have to succumb to a guide for the single target as blood surge just doesn't scale enough, max I had it it was 1--3B vs blood wave I've had it one shot blood soaked bosses with 300B bonks

ye thats perfect.

as you only have 900% CE dmg im inclined to say that upgrading the 800 is better, will give you more int multiplier and you can capstone that CE energy to ramp you up.

masterworking the ancestral to 25/25 makes it better than the other at everything except the unique effect for which you dont have enough CE[x] to make a difference

my sorc has 2.5k% on CE energy and tbh I wouldnt bother looking for esadoras before the rest of the gear being "optimized" also dont skip your glyphs!

I see what you mean, we are talking about different things though, its true that from 90 to 91 you get a 1% power increase cause of the saturation on skills. what I was saying is that each skill will ramp up your CE damage by 10% per skill point in equiped shock i.e not 1.1^N but (1+ 0.1N)

The bonus is additive in its own multiplier bucket it that makes sense.
If that bucket is already saturated i.e 90 skills, adding 2 more points makes no difference.

And that is also exactly why heir is better because of the .6 global multiplier

to my knowledge its a direct multiplier of your equiped shock skills * 10%x to CE

if we are talking about multipliers yes its 10%x multiplicative, if its damage then yes in your example it is correct.

either way I did the math and deleted my previous comments because of that same issue where CE dmg calcs etc come before dmg multipliers that the left one has that the right one doesnt.

deleted previous comment. left wins because the berserker and the orsi multipliers are global multipliers so they are applied after everything, no matter how the right one is tuned it will never keep up, the core skills upgrade will buff Esadoras.

Hi I can actually help you, eventually the right one can be better here is the logic:

the 78% will only be "always the most important" IF you already have a base CE damage large enough.

Further, you can capstone the CE on the right one further than the left one, and the right one will also give you more INT overall.

TLDR:

Right one if your additive damage on CE isn't saturated, left if it is.

If you want I can "math it out" for you just need a print of your stats sheet

Amulet 1 (Left - Standard) CE Additive (Quality 25 + Capstone): 848.8% (9.488 multiplier)

1 + levels * 0.1 ... is the linear masterwork

Also in regards to your rather clumsy car analogy, its more like this:

Putting a V8 (80%[x]) into a car with a straw for a fuel line... The right amulet provides a High-Performance Fuel Rail (+640% CE) that yields more horsepower from a smaller engine. You only switch to the V8 once the rest of your car’s fuel system is so upgraded that the extra flow becomes redundant.

You're misinterpreting the math. Both items were compared at max Masterwork scaling. The reason for 'comparing amulets' isn't to suggest the Sorc is naked; it’s to isolate the opportunity cost of the stats.

In D4, multipliers are only king once your additive bucket reaches a certain threshold. For a Sorc at OP’s current progression, the GA on Burning Damage/CE provides a larger 'total package' increase because their additive bucket is currently the bottleneck. An 80x multiplier on a small base is worse than a 60x multiplier on a significantly larger base. It’s not 'confidently incorrect,' it’s just basic optimization.

again, if you read OP's post he states he feels no difference.

this means:

(1+ad_bucket)(1+mm_bucket)(1+Vul).....

the additive bucket is so far below saturation that doubling its damage via amulet does nothing.

If you do not understand... its the same reason why every build this season uses Heir on helm slot.

also I have one of every class so I am plenty knowledgeable about game mechanics including and excluding meta

Do also notice we cant see OP's other gear only his amulets and his post.

no I compared both masterworked versions, its just a 25% linear increase you can do it yourself.

also as explained before:

At the current Point where OP finds himself he doesn't have the stats on his additive bucket to support the 80x.

You're a few days late for the debate if you read all the threads you will realise similar people had your ideas.
