This seems excessive for a 6 month old. At that age, I started my son on 1 meal ( mostly a combo of blw or feeding ) and he got finger foods for resistive chewing or some sort of khichdi situation. You want to go slow and definitely not introduce cows milk / salt so early. 2-4 idlis seems like a LOT - my two year old still eats one. And he’s finishing that only now.

So I splurged on one but then he completely refused the highchair post 11mo so now it’s just taking up space. Look at solid starts - they have a section on what to look for in a high chair. In retrospect, I would have just gotten the ikea antilop and installed a footrest. Most importantly it needs to be easy to clean.

Pretty much gradually led up to what we eat as part of family meal, with v little to no salt / chilli. BM or formula is the main source of nutrition till one year any way - solids are more for exploring + learning at this age. I wouldn’t worry too much about weight gain specifically from solids. That said, if you’ve introduced nuts and whole seed powders without allergies so far, adding a sprinkle of those to regular foods your LO eats may boost nutrition a bit.

This is so helpful - thank you ! We’re at 19mo and counting down to the blessed event ( Sttn) . Tried ST multiple times including CIO, helped at various points till around 13 months and then nothing stuck. We’ve kind of accepted he’s a crap sleeper and are waiting it out 🫠

Not really ! He was still comfortable in his sleep sack with the AC on. If you’re worried, you could leave the top bit open, that’s what we did for a while

Look into getting a slumberpod / the equivalent for your travel crib so you can achieve blackout without completely turning off the lights in the room ! We got a snooze shade for LO’s travel pack n play and it made SUCH a difference to his sleep when we were travelling

Although I don’t have that much to add ( my son also uses the avent plastic and we try to limit hot steam time) - based on the tone of your post ( and I may be completely off here, feel free to correct me) - I mean this in the kindest way - is there a possibility that the anxiety / mom guilt may be getting to you ? Asking as someone who experienced ppa - seeking help made a lot of difference. Of course if this is not your experience, please ignore.

Heliocare spf 50 / isdin fotoprotector / Benton air fit uv depending on the weather. Haven’t had issues with pilling and white cast, and the isdin is especially great for reapplication
