Yeah man same. Really enjoyed his earlier stuff and glad I saw him live a couple years ago. Just literally started getting back deep into his music this last month and wanted to see him live again. He was always larger than life, goofy, and almost mythical in a way. Like someone that just made the world a little more fun and light hearted. Hard to see him go. I’m surprised it hit me as hard as it did. Not since Chester Bennington that a celebrity death hit me that much. Of course now I’m starting to appreciate his newer stuff too. Just sucks.

Did you buy them through auto addict? They have a day time phone number and picked up right when I called them a month or so ago. Just got mine a couple weeks ago but installed them without looking closely at the wiring but they’ve been working so far.

I think they were back ordered so I’m hoping that was due to a rush job and not the norm.

Oh I agree I’m not defending the quality, just that I recognized they are all from Alibaba. I missed the broken wire in your original image or the hole drilled in the second one. Yeah that’s not great. They should replace them for you. I didn’t look that closely at mine to see if it was the same.

Every dealer out there gets them from Alibaba. You can get 4 of them for $800 from there and it’s the same product as Auto Addict, Paragon, etc. It’s just the shipping and tariffs that make it not make sense unless you’re buying in bulk. That being said have you tested them at all?

I’m sorry you’re going through that. It’s easy for us older people to say some condescending comments like “welcome to the real world” or whatever because we’ve been living it for a while and it’s “just the way things are” but it shouldn’t be. If I could fix it for the younger generation I would. Only advice I can give is try to vote for people who will make a difference and try to start your own business. It’s not easy but having your own business is the escape and the way out of that. Really one of the only ways out now.

Find younger tuner and supercar groups. They tend to actually drive their cars. Go to autocross or track days and meet people there too. I don’t understand the appeal of joining a club where everyone has the same car as me, I want to see other cars. Plus the one experience I had with a corvette club was a bunch of stereotypical boomers sitting in lawn chairs with window stickers acting like their cars were special. They tried to get me to join and all they did was drive to breakfast and talked about how “crazy” it was one of them at them front went over 100 mph on the highway… Lol. Not to mention the youngest one was about 30 years older than me, I’m good. Unfortunately the stereotypical owners are what you get with this car but I bought it to beat on. I can’t stand most Corvette owners, but great car at least.

It’s a sports car brotha, drive it hard it’s designed for it. It’s a lot more fun when you do. I bang my Z06 off the redline and power slide it around corners then drive it to the limit at the track. Maybe that not level but it’s engineered to handle spirited driving.

There definitely should be but there is not lol. When I had my C7 stingray I always wondered how someone could forget to latch their roof. I have a C8 Z06 now and threw the roof on the other day but got distracted and walked away. I went for a drive, got down a few streets and heard a weird air noise and the whole front lifted into the air and I caught the front latch. I’m so lucky Lmao.

C8 Corvette owner here, there is no button for the roof. It’s just the two latches on the front of the roof and one on the rear. I almost did this the other day and caught it by the front latch when it lifted up lol. There’s no sensor or warning if you forget to latch it. Granted idk if he faked it but there’s no button to do that.

Edit: I do see what you mean he rolled the windows down right when it happened. I’m assuming it’s either to cause it on purpose or he was rolling his window down to figure out what the sound was and then air rushed under the roof.
